I am excited that there will be something going on while we are there! Looking forward to meeting some people from this board as well. I am trying to talk my friends into staying closer to town, like the Sandos Playacar.
Keep us posted on planned activities! I know we are missing your actual birthday party!

WOW! I can't believe it was nearly 2 years ago we were there during your 40th. We met you at the Beer Bucket, but didn't make the Tequila barrel due to a long day at Akumal. we will be in town this year from the 16th - 24th and we'll try to make it this time.

I don't have a lot of dating tips. Adam was the first and only guy I went out with after I left my ex-husband. We went on one date and the next day I told him I didn't want to go out with anyone else. He just said "OK" and that was it. We were married 1 year later. OK - I do have advice. Be direct and tell him how it is! If he doesn't freak then you're good to go.

thanks for the tip Lisa. he and i have already had that conversation. he was the one who actually brought it up!!! not the marriage thing, but that i didn't want to see anyone else.

Thanks...I was (am!) very happy. It was a great day, Susie took some great pics with one of my cams. Mahahual was amazing. I am sure we were the only non-Mexican people there. We had the beach to ourselves - good for us, not good for the people of the area

. The devastation from Hurricane Dean was still quite evident - some damaged buildings and signage still remain, and there is quite a bit of new/rebuilt construction as well. The thing that stood out the most for me was the vegetation - or lack thereof. The mangroves are all dead or dying and there is bare wood and sticks everywhere that used to be green. So sad. And yet still a beautiful place. I would recommend visiting if you ever have the chance. It is very quiet with only the most basic of services - totally a different vibe than Playa or even Tulum. I am going to do a trip report - eventually.... really! I have pics!

I enjoyed meeting you both and I was SO DARN PROUD of Sugar Mama that day we all went swimmin'!
