ok I ate here and DO NOT recommend their burgers. Zenzi beach club has a much better burger. Heck even burger king's new angus burger tasted much better.
Please save your money and go eat at Zenzi's, fusion or even burger king (haha!) for a better burger. Just my 2 cents....... |

We haven't tried Zenzies or Cry Babies yet, but last year we ate burgers at Blucacao Beach Club and they were terrific. They were big enough for us to split at 120 pesos. We don't usually eat burgers but every once an a while you get a craving and Blucacao's definitely hit the spot. This year we will make it a point to go to Zenzie's.

It's undergoing renovations and will reopen as a different restaurant (same partners methinks) |

Not Closing
I talked to the owner last night and I guess they are re-modeling and re-opening....
Does not make sense, since they just opened and they are already renovating... But Whatever... Does it really matter or affect us???? Just another thing to gossip about.. |

Great late lunch at TExas Burger today
This thread is a bit old, but I came across it while looking for reviews of Texas Burger Co today. In spite of the reviews here, I went to TX Burger for a late lunch around 3p.m. Apps were half price, so I got the salad for half price which had lots of bacon and pecans, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, w/balsamic and olive oil dressing- was very good. I then had the half order of ribs that comes w/grilled corn on cob, and fries but I had them substitute the onion rings for the fries.
I am from TX originally and those ribs were VERY good. Onion rings were surprisingly good, very crisp and not oily, firm, definitely handmade. I liked their BBQ sauce so much that I bought a bottle for my condo kitchen (they sell a big bottle for 100 pesos). Sometimes after a wk or so here I just can't take any more of the good seafood or Mexican food. TX Burger's ribs really did the trick. then I walked directly across 5th Ave to GetSemani and got the best massage of my life, bar none. 1.5 hrs for $40. Eva is the best masseuse I have found anywhere. Just another day in Playa... Perfecto. |

i ate at texas burger company last may and was not impressed. the burger was meh - not memorable at all... the onion rings were very bland and i think i used half the salt in the shaker to try to give them some flavor...
there are some very tasty burgers on juarez, other side of the freeway a bit past oxxo on the right. it's an open air kinda place with a name something like hamburguesas al carbon. we usually get the arecherra burger and it costs around 30-40 pesos so it's definitely not angus! i have a VERY weak stomach and get sick all the time (especially living in mexico) but have yet to do so here. i guess this suggestion is more for the local peeps since it's a bit out of the way of 5th ave, but definitely give it a try. another note - the hot dogs are super bland and not worth your time, but if you're craving a burger and living on a mexican salary - this is your place! |
