TEXAS Burger Company

A new place opened tonight on AV 5 just north of Calle 20. It is called the TEXAS Burger Company. When I give it a try..........I will report back about it.

Is this close to your condo? Did you find the website your other condo was listed under? Can you send me a PM when you get it? We're starting to make plans for our next trip.

I will get it for you soon - I am on Mexican time (I haven't forgotten). BBQ on the Beach at Zenzi was very busy yesterday - missed you there - but it meant more food for me.

It is about 3 1/2 blocks from my condo where "George and the Dragon" used to be.

Too funny. Did he draw you with the towel and the embellishments down under?

My exact thought.
Ate at Texas Burger Company with several friends. Had the Bacon Bleu Burger. They are hand pattied burgers and 180 grams of meat. It was actually pretty good. Everyone enjoyed their meal. But as slow as business is around town, if they are under capitalized - they won't last six months. I expect a lot of restaurants and businesses to close due to the state of the economy here.

It sounds insane to open up a restaurant at this time.. But I guess it may work out if they have the funding to be open a couple of months..

I'll have to check it out, did you see if they had any vegetarian alternative (like salad or something similar)? I guess it's not likely, restaurants with "texas" in them usually don't. Most of my friends don't eat meat, that's why I'm asking..

Texas Burger Co.

Hey you all,

First of all I'm glad you guys have liked the burger joint we just started.
I live in Europe and my brother is taking care of the place.

Playa del Carmen is the 5th burger place we open and the first in Mexico (of a few I hope)

Although we we're not counting on the swine flu when we started it, we do have the capital to keep it going for a long time.

Hope to keep hearing about the restaurant good and bad criticism is always welcome...

my husband and i ate there last week... i have to say we didn't exactly have a great experience... burger tasted exactly the same as the kind our friend buys at sam's in the freezer section... the bacon burger i ordered came to the table without the bacon- we had to ask for it. they didn't have any fries! only had onion rings, which were the blandest i ever tasted. came with the smallest portion of 'dipping sauce' i have ever seen... the ketchup was definitely some awful generic brand put in the the heinz bottle (which i know is very common in a lot of restaurants, but i HATE that). didn't have most drinks we asked for. even had to dash around the corner to get the beer my husband ordered... the ribs my husband got weren't even on the menu- he he to ask if they had any. it just seemed like the most disorganized mess i have ever encountered. since we are locals, we won't be coming back and won't be spreading any good word to our friends... sorry to the owners but just being completely honest!
