Question

How difficult is it to get items shipped into Playa. Like washing machines and other larger items.

I suggest you start a new thread when you have specific questions. It'll vastly increase your chance of getting a reply.

For example: Shipping to Playa?

The rules do change, so hopefully somebody who has done it recently can help. At one time you had to go through the Mexican consulate and have an official stamped list etc of what you were bringing. Anything new could be taxed upon entry too.

I brought boxes by air from London. We used a shipping agent in Cancun to whisk them through customs with no problems, breakages, or losses. He inspected the list against the actual contents, sealed them up again and gave customs his report and the all clear.

Is it best to rent or buy? Where is the best place to live? Any information would help.

Mucho gracias

Hey Cruz!

Please add me to your Contacts list on the forum, and keep me posted as to how things wind up going. I'm planning to help my father set up down there for his retirement, and the more information I can collect, the better.

Thanks.

Hi Cruz! Just wanted to say hello, and tell you that I am very envious that you are moving to Playa! My husband and I dream of it- hopefully when the kids are out of the house we can make it a reality. Best of luck in your awesome adventure!! We will be back there in about 6 weeks.
