Day 2

The next morning it's up and out to the boat. Mornings are cold here. Any water left out the night before is normally frozen. Bundle up in the morning and strip down in the afternoon, and bundle up in the evening. Was a decent day of fishing for Browns and Rainbows.

Back at the cabin the fun begins. We got a big ole' fish dinner prepped.

Time for some fun. "High Mountain Horse Shoes" anyone?

The winning shot.

Time for Dinner!

Fire dying down and stuffed to the gills (pun intended) the my cot is waiting for me.

And that's it for day 2.

Day 3

Day 3 was more of the same with a few things worth a mention.

A small forest had developed that night. Not a threat, but worth paying attention to.

Kind of a rough day on the lake. Little storm blowing through.

Day 4

A bit of the same. Hard to beat a day on the lake.

An Osprey grabbing a fish dinner to go.

Headed for the far side of the lake and docked at Twin Lakes resort. A small round lake just across the road. A nice little store, lodge and cabins. A great family place because they stock the lake for the little ones to fish for.

Day 4

More good food and relaxation. Although not at horse shoes. Mark has pretty much just whooped me 5 games to 1.

This is Alvin. He, Simon and Theodore (and half a dozen friends) Are the TRUE owners of the cabin. They get quite annoyed that we stay here from time to time. But they are happy to assist us in using up any unwanted bread.

A few more random boat shots otta wrap this one up.

Day 5

Well you know how the last day goes. Clean up, lock down, give Alvin back his house, load the boat. We're headed west. And I'm ready to see my girls.

I grew up in Bend and fished Wickiup many times as well as Devils, Elk and Little Lava and Lava Lakes. Our friend owned the lodge at Lava Lake and we would snowmobile up there to go ice fishing. There's something very therapeutic about fishing in the high lakes. Some very good memories. Thanks for the reminder.

Snowmobiling to Paulina Lake Lodge.

Crater Lake.

Fishing at East Lake and Crescent Lake. Wonderful places to go fishing and spend some time.

Taking the Summit chair to the top of Mt. Bachelor in the summer. What a view!

Timberline Lodge in the winter.

Just a few suggestions but I've done them all and enjoyed every minute of it.
