Review of Reef Cocoa beach Awful!

My wife and I where the unfortunate folks with the toilet that did not work!
I have responded and requested a refund thru my travel agent as well as directly to the Resort owners.

We are so disenchanted with our vacation!
We waited 25 years to take a trip south and found this trip to be so poorly organized and run.
Dropped at wrong resort by the Sunquest driver! Now that is starting things on the wrong foot! It was at best a quick ride hitting 150 km/hr at times!
A pain to get reenbursed for the cab fare to our resort!
The smell from the lagoon was bad!
The food at best was so so!
The Front Desk was anything but helpful or accomodating!
The maintenance folks where clueless. One of them was swapping a light out in the lobby with the power on! Popped the breaker. Now that makes sense! Their best fix for a slow toilet that overflowed was give it a plunge and then tighten up the handle so it runs water constantly!
The Toilet was a slow feeder from the get go and only got worse!
The idea of putting the toilet paper in the trash basket is just unsanitary!
The "Fully Booked We will put you on a list to get another room" line got very tired very quickly!
Getting Monte's revenge did not help this situation either and I am suspect of the Latino Restaurant Beef steak for giving it to me! I was sick for almost two weeks with whatever it was I got!
No internet cafe!
No jacuzzi!
No tennis courts!
The fogging for mosquitos that blew thru the lobby was just plan dumb and dangerous!
Not close to town and definitely not a nice place to be!
5 star no way never will be!
I have traveled from Boston to San Francisco and across Canada and I have never in all my travels to other Hotels ever been treated this poorly!
I have never flamed an organization nor complained about my accommodations before but this place is just that bad!
R& J

rmarsh,

Sorry to hear you had a lousy time. It being a new resort, I'm sure it takes a while to get things going
We were there the 1st week they were open. The place wasn't full and we had a great time. One of the couples we were with had a problem with their toilot also. It was fixed in no time.
I'm no novice traveler, but we loved the place and the people. Would definetly go back.

Just spoke with Sunquest Customer Service

Hi rmarsh,

I am the Travel Agent from Vancouver Island with 2 couples enroute to the RCB (one today and the other on Sunday).

I was horrified at all the negative reviews about this resort and called Sunquest 5 minutes ago. They had yet to receive any complaints from guests. The Customer Service Rep advised if my clients were not happy with the RCB all they had to do was contact the Sunquest Destination Rep who would arrange to move them to a comparable resort - 5 star as per the Sunquest brochure. I found it strange that of all the negative reviews I read, not one mentioned that they had contacted their Tour Company's Destination Rep for assistance. I certainly would have done that immediately if there was any hint of sewage smell!

Rmarsh, I urge you to contact Sunquest immediately and take up your concerns with them, I am confident that they will go out of their way to resolve your issues.

we did contact the sunquest rep

we were there the same week as rmarsh....although we never met we also were there on our 20th anniversary ..we did talk with Luz (the Sunquest rep) about our concerns and she talked with the hotel but they had no solutions...the hotel was BOOKED SOLID .....and the option of going to another hotel was not even mentioned OR offered to us....(we would have jumped at the chance)....i guess they felt the issue of NO KING SIZE BED was very trivial....they finally gave us an ocean view on the bottom floor as a comprimize after my husband started to get very annoyed with them.......but at least we had a toilet that worked......so the hotel felt we had very little to complain about ..... it was NOT one of our favourite holidays...and we would NEVER recommend this place , if u chose to go there, you're taking your chances...there certainly are MUCH nicer places to go and stay.....for half the price...

cancelled reservation

I have cancelled my reservation with the family for spring break. I hope the management takes notice of these bad reports and puts some efforts into addressing the concerns.
