VERY last minute surprise solo trip...mostly pics

All this talk about Playa and all the chicas headed down there was just about driving me crazy. Between this site and Facebook I just couldn't take another minute of it, so...........what was a girl to do?

I decided on a Saturday, booked my air and left the next day. I had it in my mind that I may go and had an idea of what to pack.....but this is so NOT me. I am a planner to the end and this is just out of character for me, but I'm sure glad I did it!

I kept it a secret in hopes of surprising one of my favorite chicas......Jamesblonde. Have I said how much I adore her? I hinted I would try and come, but as far as she knew......it was a no go.

On with the show!!

Found out Eileen and her hubby were on my connecting flight from CLT to CUN and we arranged to share a ride from a taxi friend of mine.

So, about this surprise...........

Got to the condo and began to unpack and plot and plan how I would surprise Jami. We both have Mexican cell phones, but if I used that, she would surely know I was in Playa.

I tried to Skype her Mexican cell, and after about 30 minutes of trying, I finally was able to get a call thru......only to get no answer.
I thought she was staying with Vikki at Maureen's house and so I tried calling Vikki's number..........nuthin.

I also tried calling Maureen's house number and there was no answer.......ughhhh
I can't blow this surprise now.

Drastic measures.........
I had Maureen's address and called my taxi friend to bring me out there around 6pm thinking she would surely be there getting ready for dinner. I've never been to Mo's house and had no idea where it was but we found it after only a bit. Banged on the door to hear a faint voice.......
"who is it?" I replied....."you'll have to open the door to find out!"
Hi Vikki!!!! Huh??? Kim????? KIM!!!!!!
Big hugs and of course a welcome shot of GC!
Jami wasn't there, but Vikki was getting ready for dinner and to go pick her up. I invited myself along and we were off! I must tell you that Vikki drives like a pro in Playa. I don't know how she does it, but she is better than a taxi driver!!

We pull up to Jami and her other friend Vikki and Mike standing waiting. Jami looks as if to say......."who in the hell is in the passenger seat"???
As I got out of the car......she covered her mouth.......and we both screamed!!! What a moment! And can you freakin beleive I do not have one stinking picture from this night?? What was I thinking? First and foremost on my mind was seeing this chica and catching up a bit........to be honest, pictures didn't even come to mind.

Off to Manne's. It was Sunday after all.....and then off to "drink the bar dry" at Mom's.

Didn't make it too late......travel day and all, but I went to bed with a huge smile on my face that I pulled it off!

What a day!!!!!!!

Surprise part dos

Another last minute solo traveler.......Penny is coming to town today but it wouldn't be until later this afternoon.

Spent the day at Kool with Susie Q and a gorgeous day it was. Spent it catching up.....probably could have used a month or two for that......but it was a wonderful day!

I knew Penny was due around 4-ish and it was getting kinda late. Hmmmm, she should be here by now. Of course, what I didn't know was that her bus got into an accident......no one was hurt thankfully, but Penny got out to grab a cab and the skies opened up. She got drenched but made it all in one piece!

Had made plans to meet the chicas at El Bistro and would be bringing "surprise part dos" along!

Charlie and Eileen........so photogenic! And soooo in love. It's their anniversary trip and I'm thinking there's alot of lovin going on at ShangriLa!!!

Headed down 10th after dinner to surprise some peeps and see whos out and Judy could hear our big mouths from down the street!

Yikes! I needed Vikki to teach me a thing or two! AFter all.......I just learned to shoot tequila this past winter. I didn't know there were so many tricks to it!

And Jami fell in love.........this was precious. Baby Jennifer belongs to Alex (sister of Mayte) of the Bloody Chicas. Jami had her cooing and talking. It was adorable:

Then it was off to Dirty Martini!

Which didn't turn out to be such a good idea for Penny the next morning..........

So, today is a very full day! Penny and I are headed to Tulum with Susie for some chilling at El Paraiso.......but not before I plan my next surprise!!!

Another chica that I've been dying to meet is here.......or rather is in Tulum for a few days and due in Playa manana, but I just cannot wait and I want........NO, I NEED to see her NOW! None other than CaroleLB and her gorgeous daughter Ayla. I just knew there was something about Carole that I would love....and I was surely right.

After Susie turned us on to the most orgasmic baguette sandwiches at Ty-Coz. A little place headed south at the first Pemex station after City Club. OMGGGGGG You MUST try the chicken and cheese baguette. It is really the best sandwich I have EVER had........and extremely wonderful for a hangover. I had my heart set on breakfast at the carts but we had gotten such a late start and Susie thought we would enjoy this. She was sooooo right!!

So, as we head to Tulum and are oooohhing and aaahhhing in ecstacy over these sandwiches, I ask if she would mind driving me by Ana Y Jose.....just in case I may find Carole there. Susie is such a good sport. I had never been down that end of Tulum. I love it! I never knew all that was there! Lots to explore, but no time to do it now. No sign of them at AyJ so we head to Tita Tulum where I knew they were staying. As we approach the restaurant......I see that unmistakable curly hair and my heart starts racing.........she's here!! And somehow......she knew. She knew I was coming and knew I was her surprise! I love this woman and her daughter too. What a pleasure to be around these lovely ladies. Caring, kind and fun to be around and I look forward to spending more time with them. I didn't want to just pounce on them and put a wrench in their day.....and we did already have our plans for El Paraiso with comfy beds calling our name....so off we went with promises of meeting up very soon back in Playa. Ahhhh, I am feeling wonderful and so happy! Life is good, I tell ya.........life is soooo good.

So back from Tulum we headed with plans of meeting Jami at El Diez on Calle 30 and 5th. Penny had suggested this restaurant and it was awesome!

Jami's friend Vikki joined us with her hubby and also Joe Colada. Really great dinner!

Sadly, it was Jami's last night and I was heartbroken not to be able to spend a bit more time with her....but reality was waiting and she had to get home.

We were sure to make this night memorable.......

After dinner we headed over to Luna Blue......

Since the condo is only steps away, I decide to invite people over for some icy cold shots of GC......a few at a time......times three...I think.

Anyhow, we did this silly thing......that just seemed to take off...like the Wizard of Oz. The condo door has a peekaboo door that everyone had to have their picture taken before they could leave......pretty funny stuff......after many shots of tequila!

NO, the Wizard will not see you......he will not see anyone!!!! .........

A very fun night, indeed.
