I have Laminate...Very nice with a distressed barn oak grain...
It has so far survived 2 kids, 3 cats & a puppy with flying colors...My carpet however is wrecked...I'd rethink Laminate. Hardwood is nice but who actually gets around to refinishing it every couple years...
