Day 2
Before I get started I wanted to say a little more about the Pueblito Escondido. We really loved it there. We stayed in room 215 which is a one bedroom. The condo was roomy. It had nice granite countertops, a tiled walk in shower, and a large closet area. The only downsides I can think of would be the little deck outside was too small to actually sit out and enjoy and the kitchen sink barely had enough water to accumulate to a drip. The pool areas are great. They usually have the bars staffedffed at both pools, but since it was so slow when we were there they weren't open at all during our stay. The view from the rooftop pool: ![]() ![]() Ok, onto day 2 We got up and just had some pastries for breakfast that we bought from Mega. I don't know what they were but they were really good. Mega has a great bakery department. Its huge. We stopped in the lobby to pick up umbrellas and chairs to take to the beach, grabbed the cooler and we were on our way to the beach. After a few hours of total relaxation we were getting hungry so we started walking down the beach to find lunch. After walking quite a way, we found Playa Maya and hunkered down. We had the guacamole and the cocunut shrimp. I will be back to have that shrimp again! ![]() As you will soon find out, I am all about the food. We had a couple of beers and then went up to 5th and did a some shopping on our long walk home. We got home and showered and went back down 5th. We had plans to eat at ******** tonight. But when we got there, they were closed and we were told they would be opening back up in a couple of days. This flu craziness has really affected things here. We decided then to eat at La Palapas Hemingway. They had great guacamole but the food was just so so. I had grilled lobster and hubby had the Mexican Plate. We still enjoyed it; the location is great for people watching and just sitting out and enjoying the great evening weather. No pictures of the food here. I kept forgetting until the food was all gone! ![]() Well, it was another perfect day . God I love this place. Ok, for some reason when I try to type in the restaurant we were supposed to eat at, it gets deleted out. It was ********. Ha, it happened again! Anyway, it has Asian cuisine, hint, hint. |

Lindalou, your pics are coming up perfect now!
![]() I also like the font you're using for your report. Very easy to read! And those condos look great! What a great view you had! We also love the coconut shrimp at the Playa Maya. The only reason we didn't have that on the day we walked up there was because we didn't have enough money with us! We will also be back there! |

Boy, that's so hard! As for a romantic place for me and Charlie, I would have to say that the Shangri-la was tops!
We have also really really enjoyed the Barcelo Maya. The beach, the facilities and the food there were fantastic. The only down side is that it's so far from town that you really have to take a taxi to get there, so we didn't do much of that. For service and friendliness, I would give it to the Iberostars...we loved the Lindo and also the Quetzal. Our first AI experience was the Gala Resort (now Sandos Gala), and we also enjoyed it. I can't say we've ever had a bad experience in any of our five stays in Playa. |

Day 3
Today started out like every day was starting out. Where to eat??? We decided today it would be La Cueva del Chango. Good decision. I am amazed at how decieving this place is. From the outside it doesn't look like much, and then you walk in the entrance and its just incredible. It is like a tropical wonderland. And the food was good too! I loved the stoneware mugs the coffee came in. Nice touch. Chilaquilles ![]() Chicken Crepes with a Green Sauce (forgot the name of the dish) ![]() The juices were great as well. Very filling breakfast at a great price. The way they put the bottles in the ceiling inside was very decorative and creative. Today, we went to Mamita's Beach Club. For 90 pesos we rented a palapa and two lounge chairs for the day. We got there around noon and had the place pretty much to ourselves. Pretty much all alone at Mamita's ![]() It did get a little busier as the day went on, but there were still a lot of empty palapas throughout the day. Service was good. We had the shrimp ceviche for lunch and it was pretty good as well. We went up and showered and we were headed to Bad Boys to watch the Nasty Bastards that I have read so much about. I couldn't understand what was such a big deal about this place and this band. Well, I have to say...........I now understand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We stopped at some beach bar along the way for a drink and got to Bad Boys around 4 thinking they started at 4 but it was 5 that night. We were just going to stay for a couple of songs and move on.....we moved on all right.....right into a big drunkfest for these two. A lot of moments of the night are fuzzy but I do remember my husband being on all fours with some woman riding him and slapping his a_ _!! It was the funniest thing I had ever seen due to the fact that my husband is about as conservative as they come. The only pic I got though was of his front end because I was laughing sooooo hard. Everyone there was so nice and it was great to meet some of the people from this board. We had a great time. i wish I could remember more of it. And the band was great from what I do remember. We somehow got to 5th after the band quit and walked home but the only thing I remember about that is Eileen's husband coming up behind us at some point calling out to "Cowboy".We did come home having bought some souveniers and taking some interesting pics somehow. No dinner tonight. Straight to bed! We kept saying we were going to go back Saturday for more. A few pics of the great people we saw ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() My only proof to the family that Gary actually did this: ![]() ![]() This woman who the band seemed to know came up on stage and she was awesome! ![]() Yeah, we are definately going back on Saturday is what Gary said I kept saying over and over. Yeah, going back for more.
