The womens CWS is pretty fun too. The Lady Huskies from Seattle won it this year.
You know, I hate to say I have never watched the women's CWS. One of my daughters likes to though. I remember that 1st year with Oregon State. My daughter bought one of their t-shirts not thinking much about it. When she went back home to Kansas City people would look at her funny when she wore it. She finally realized it was because all the front of the t-shirt said was something like go beavers!!! Omaha definately loves its CWS. The atmosphere is unbelievable. It will change though in a couple of years. They are building a new stadium and it just won't be the same.

All of the above. The College World Series is in Omaha here and its been part of our lives forever. Plus all 5 of our kids played baseball/softball and Gary coached both of the boys teams so needless to say we are baseball fans. I have lawnchair butt to prove it! A lot of our summer vacations even revolve around MLB games. In fact, being from the Boston area you might appreciate the fact that my first MLB game ever was the Red Sox and Yanks at Fenway. Nothing like it I tell ya. You guys are lucky to be so close. Are you guys big Red Sox fans? Probably a silly question.

mmmyeah...we're fans! We're huge fans. We both grew up in the agonizing "Bambino's curse" years with the Red Sox breaking our hearts basically every year. We finally got rid of that hard luck label in 2004, and it was like a huge weight being lifted off the shoulders of entire region! We try to take the family to see a Sox game at least once a year, but it's hard! Tickets are ridiculously difficult to get, and those you can get are usually very expensive. We frequently travel to Fenway South (Baltimore) or North (Toronto) to see them play there during our summer vacations. We are lucky to live right next door to Lowell, where one of the Red Sox minor league teams plays, and we usually see about 10 of their games every year. we've had the oportunity to see a lot of the current stars play when they were kids.

Oh, and BTW, it blows my mind that you two young'uns could possibly have 5 grown kids! Yikes! Enjoy the CWS!

I am so jealous that you guys live that close to be able to go see the Red Sox like that. We only get to see them if we go see them play another team closer to us. How fun! My sister lives in Connecticut and they usually go once a yr to a game...some friends get tickets for them. And thanks for the compliment but we are knocking on 50. I turn 48 next week. Uggg.

Day 4

We had to get up early today as we are going to take the ferry to Cozumel. We have a jeep rented for the day. We used Isis for our rental. I highly recommend her. Not feeling too good this morning after our bad boys night. Ooh, we don't even remember how much we spent; hopefully we tipped the server enough for putting up with us. We stopped at the food carts for tortas. Oh my gosh, I could just eat these everyday.

We took the ferry over to Cozumel, got the jeep and we were on our way. We drove around to the east side of the island. It was so different on that side of the island.

Cont. Day 4

Oops, I accidentally hit submit. We kept on driving and ended up at Coconuts for lunch and sodas (no alcohol today I tell ya). It was great just relaxing overlooking the ocean. We sat there for quite awhile. I can't figure out if it was because it was that beautiful or we were too lazy to move.

I laughed to myself as I took this picture. They should have this sign at Bad Boys!!!!!!!!!!!!

We left Cocunuts and then stopped at the Tequila Museum and bought some tequila for my mom and her boyfriend. Then proceeded to get lost once we were back in town. We finally found Isis and returned the jeep. We got back to Play , went home and showered and back down 5th we go. We walked down to Rolandi's and had pizza. It was pretty good.

After eating, we just walked around awhile soaking everything in and headed back to the condo by 10. We were spent. All in all a great day. Just like every other day here.

This is so funny Lindalou! Gary doesn't look like a bucking bronco in this picture!

Glad you had fun on your day trip to Cozumel. We've never made it over there, not yet anyway! Someday!

We paid around $60 for our jeep last month. You could probably get something a little cheaper but Isis is a mom and pop company and their customer service was very good.

I tried to get tickets for the Mariners/Sox game but they were spoken for and ended up getting 4 tickets for the Rangers 8 rows up from the field. The best part is they're corporate seats and I can put my requests in for next year too. Free is a very good price...
