Quit drinking those drinks with the fancy straws.

As an aside Tasha chewed up my dick straw from the bar crawl.

I suggest you look into an all inclusive resort next time. It includes all the alcohol and food you can consume! Plus you do not have to worry about finding your way back to your hotel =)

We spend less than $100 a day for the two of us.

But, it depends entirely on personal choices about where to eat, what to eat, how much and what to drink. We have days when we spend more and days when we spend far less.

When we have a place with a kitchen, breakfast is trivial in terms of cost. A dozen eggs, an onion, some bell peppers and a couple of hundred grams of chorizo, and a 1/4 kilo of coffee is 3 days worth of breakfast, for example.

On my first trip, we did AI (blah), 2nd trip was worst for meals- cooked in toooo much, nothing to write home about, why go to another country and eat the same stuff as home, but my last trip in April I finally was able to experience some of the wonderful food Playa is known for. I would estimate anywhere from 250 to 500 pesos a day. However I found the more we drank, the less we ate.

Don and I usually budget for an average of around $100 per day for a 2 week trip for the two of us when we go non-AI.

This would include food, drinks, taxi/bus fare, and tips, but NOT tours, fishing, or shopping.

We just got back a few days ago. We had estimated $100.00 a day and we noticed that some days it was less, and some days it was a little more. We mostly ate breakfast, skipped lunch and had either an early or late dinner... but there was plenty of drinking in between!! The food in playa is the best with all the different varieties you can have!! We are thinking of going back before the end of the year! Can't wait!!
