The first time we stayed in Playa we stayed at Aqua Terra and there must have been an unsecured wi-fi spot because everyone in the building that needed a connection usually stood outside near the garbage dumpster to get their signal. A few times we would come home to find someone sitting on the floor outside our door working on their computer. So there are probably many unsecured sites that are accessible if you are so inclined. P.S. there is no such thing as a dumb question.

I wonder if there are any new additions to the "Free Wifi in Playa" list?

Wi fi free locations

update....
Yaxche you can pick up the signal as you stand outside on 5th

Fusion- has wifi....buy a beer, enjoy the view and music....
spend a buck or two

El Pelicano...has wi-fi....buy a beer - get the code....

La Cueva Del Chango...its free, but you have to be in the place

once you have the code in almost all of these places, it stays the same, they usually don't change it....everytime i visit, the codes are still programmed and connect me automatically on my iPhone

This is good info.
Love the FREE wi-fi.
Will be using it in just a few more days.

wi fi free spots

i downloaded Skype to my iPhone, sit outside or use the free wi fi's and make calls at .02 cents a minute to back home or around the world...a lot cheaper than calling from my AT&T service....or texting at 50cents a text!
