Wow! I have never met Roni or Jacko personally either...Nor have I met DH and Mikey personally. But to take what is said on a political discussion and somehow calculate that these folks would not "have your back" in the trenches....Wow!

Did you know that both Roni and Jacko served honorably? I would have no qualms being in the trenches with them (although being former Air Force, I'd prefer a comfy hotel somewhere).

I understand that comments and personal attacks have been traded on these boards...but if we elevate ourselves above that, maybe we could have an adult conversation about our views. And with that happening, we wouldn't need to question one's honor or dedication.

Who questioned anyones honor or dedication? I believe he said if he had to choose people to have his back. Just because he did not choose Roni or Jacko does not mean he does not respect what they or anyone else has done for this county as far as serving in the military.

Agreed, and as a vet myself I can tell you there's no Repub./Dem. or conservative/liberal in the trenches. I think they were speaking figuratively, though, at least I hope.

Having said that, there's nothing better than a little "mano a mano" to work out disputes, is there? jk!

I served as an officer in a special forces unit in Nevada at a place called area 51. I oversaw the Alien abductions unit.

I was told by and i quote:
"but it appears more and more likely that you are both of the same ilk, you and DH. Be proud together". I confirmed his synopsis by stating if i had to choose 2 people to be with in the trenches they would be my pick.I am not saying any one else is less of a person of character i am simply answering Jackos statement which i think was a derogatory comment about DHs and my character ..i think it was intended to imply nut jobs? I was going to pick you and Craig for my trenches. You can fly planes and helicopters and stuff, and Craig is a cop. I'll read inspirational verse by flashlight, supply cigs, and start rounds of "I never" to pass the time. Whoops, no light in the trenches; I'll do it from memory: Out of the night that covers me, black as the pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever Gods may be for my unconquerable soul...
