Reef Coco Beach
Hey Everyone
My family and I will be travelling to the Reef Coco Beach Dec 12-19. I have been watching this forum daily and I am absolutely heartbroken about what I have been reading. This is my little girls first trip and I was trying to make it as special as possible for her. I thought I made the perfect choice but am now regretting my decision. Anyway, one thing I have noticed is that in all the reviews I have read, there are certain facilities that have not been mentioned. For example, Jacuzzi, Lit Tennis, Spa, Sauna and Internet Cafe' which are listed in the Sunquest book. Do these facilities exist and if not, that is false advertising. These are things I have paid for. |

RCB Facilities
HI
We where not able to find the Jacuzzi or tennis court nor did we see a place for the Jacuzzi. There is no Internet Cafe at the Resort. Others spoke of a place down on 5th Street in Playa Del Carmen We found the SPA. It is on the lower level basically under the front part of hte building. It was more like an exercise room with a massage room and a shower. Only small workout towels in the SPA. We did not find a Sauna anywhere in our travels about the resort. Hope you have a better visit than we did! R&J  |

We got back from the reef coco beach on Nov 28th after a wonderfull 8 day stay. Of course there were some growing pains but they were few and far between. I went with my wife and my 13 year old daughter and her friend of the same age. They had free scuba lessons, sailing lessons on the cats that you could take out anytime, boogie boards, kyaks. And yes there is a tennis court and basketball court on the roof over the lobby. I do agree with some of the people who wrote that the Skyservice is the absolute worst airline I have ever flown, and I flew from Vancouver which is a 6 hr flight. We arrived at the Airport in Cancun and just about missed our bus because we got suckered by one of those stupid time share booths. We arrived at the resort just after 5pm and were in our room at 5:20. We had ajoining rooms with a King in one room and 2 twins for the girls in the other. 5 star?? maybe not but clean and nice. I found that most of the staff was very friendly and helpfull. The food was better than acceptable but not great, I was not expecting great. I did not go to Mexico to have great food and great service, I went to enjoy the white sand and turquoise water, and there is plenty of that. I highly recomend Xcaret and Xelha for day trips.
The sports and animation team were high energy and good at getting people involved. The shows at night were fun. You have to remember this is Mexico and they do things diffrently down there. For me this was the best vacation I have ever had and I would have no problem recomending this resort. LEX |

We were at the Reef Nov. 3-10 6 adults and 3 kids. The place was 3 days old. Everthing was excellent no complaints. Just remember more poeple will tell lots of people about a bad time and never say a word about a good time. They have had hundreds of people stay in the last couple of months. You have only read most of the bad things, some people are never happy. The resort was full when we were there and everyone was having a great time. I Hope this helps with your concern, Its all in what you make of stuff, go and have lots of fun.

Just got an Instant Message from Reef Coco Beach
Hi everyone,
Just got off MSN Messenger with my Brother. They are more than happy with everything. They even mentioned that the road to the resort was progressing very nicely everyday. They did initially get a room with 2 beds but got a King bed the next day. No mention of any sewage smells. No internet yet they were next door??? The walk into PDC is 20 mins via beach and 10 mins via road. They met up with my other clients who are equally happy with the RCB. They said the weather is great, the beach and water are fabulous and the drinks are yummy! I feel better! Monika |

Reef Coco beach photos
Yes, there is a rooftop tennis court, and saunas just off the exercise room. The spa is also by the exercise room. The only thing I could not find was the internet access. My photos and detailed review are posted at: www.geocities.com/reefcocobeach. I have included a list of all the spa treatments and prices.

Re: Reef Coco beach photos
Vivian - I'm thinking about booking a trip for four adults and three children in April. I can't access your website, is there another address?
Thanks, Debbie Quote:

Reef Coco beach photos
It seems that the website I have put my photos on has exceeded its "file transfer limit" with so many people looking at it at one time. I will have to reduce the size of the photos so we don't have that problem again. Just wait a little while and then try it again: www.geocities.com/reefcocobeach.
In the meantime, if you have any specific questions about the resort please email me at: vivian@chuckanutbaytravel.com and I will be happy to answer them. The Reef Coco Beach is a lovely resort but I think it is imperative that you know what to expect in order to make the right decision whether this is the right resort for you. |

RCB Was Amazing!
We got back on Dec. 21st, we - like everyone else- were worried after hearing all the bad reviews. Nothing to worry about!! The Serivce is like none other! Yes, the food could have been better but it is not the same as here and you can't expect it to be.... it's mexico. I really enjoyed the mexican restaurant.. much more than the italian, i think they shoud stick with what they know. My all time favorite food was discovered here.. Coconut Shrimp... WOW.. the mexicans know how too cook their seafood!!
Sweet tropical fruit sauce with shrimp battered in coconut and fried...The BEST!! If you have any problems talk to Amador at the front desk, an amazing host! You could not compare this place to any other in Playa... all teh other resorts had resorts all around, this one is at the end... go left down the beach and you can walk for ever... no buildings, no shops, just quiet, not even that many people.... in the morning there were a few more people on the beach running, but that was it. We did chichenitza, tulum, coba, xel-ha, akumal, hidden worlds, puerto adventuras and lots of cenotes we found all over... we rented a car, no problems with safety... the tour companies you went down with would like for you to take their tours.. so they won't recomend that youadventure out on your own, but it was sooooo worth it!! we spent twice as much time at chichentiza as we would have had on a tour and paid half as much after the price of the car rental and highway tolls.xel-ha was another one that you don't need a tour bus for, take the local bus from town there, it is a plce to spend a whole day!! the tours pick up at all teh hotels along the way so you spend most of your day on the bus.. boo! I playedwith manatee's adn sting rays at puerto adventuras... very nice place. I swam wit hdolphins at xel-ha, but wish i would have done it at puerto adventuras, a better experience there - less people, more time with the animals, closer interaction. i hope to get some pictures posted soon.. don't hesitate on going!! |
