Those of you going soon will have a great time.
A couple more things that I thought of.
There are 3 bathrooms around the pool (I know I have a thing about pools and bathrooms). One is next to the pool bar, one in the restaurant and one behind the pingpong table in the chill out area. There are two in the lobby area. One behind the front desk near the computers and one off the bar by the Mexican restaurant. All the bathrooms except for 2 are very nice. Cloth hand towels and beautiful fresh flowers.
Also, if you want to take a short cut instead of walking up through the middle of the buildings, use the ring road and cut through the last building. Saves some time.
The resort is very casual and that is one of things that we loved about it. At least while we were there, men didn't need long pants or closed shoes to dine in any of the restaurants.
Have fun and post something about your trip, I would love to hear what you think.

Thanks for all the great pics and wonderful trip report! I really enjoyed staying there and it sounds like you did too. Xpu Ha is one of the best beaches around IMO.......I noticed they changed a few things since my visit and good ones to boot!

Sounds like a fun girlfriends getaway.
Thanks for the report and pics.

I think it was really nice of you two to help Chuck celebrate his BD.

Yeah....we normally go the boutique hotel route but we both have done AI's and are not opposed to staying at one again. I've stayed at Catalonia (used to be Copacabana back then) twice......loved that it was a smaller AI and I REALLY loved that it is not sandwiched in between other AIs. It is definitely a great place to chill and not have streams of people walking up and down the beach......great atmosphere for reading.

CRT questions

A few questions to those that have been.....

Did you do a private transfer from the airport?

What comes in the mini bar?

What beers does the resort offer?

Any chance you recall if they have top shelf liquors (crown, jack, etc)?

Are long pants required for men for dinner?

Thanks!!!

We've done both private and shared. I think it's worth it to pay more for the private transfer.

Mini bar is stocked with water, a couple of beers, coke, coca cola light, orange soda, pack of cookies and some nuts. They will give you more of whatever you want. Leave a note inside the mini bar with a couple of bucks and it will be stocked with what you want every day.

The beer is Dos Equis

I don't know about the Crown or Jack but they do have top shelf rum, vodka and tequila.

Long pants and closed shoes were not required for men. The resort is VERY casual. That is one of the reasons we liked it so much.
