Hi, my second trip to PDC, arriving 7/12

Hi, everyone. This is going to be my second trip to Playa. My first was Nov '06. My husband and I went for our honeymoon and stayed at Adventura Spa Palace. (Beautiful resort, average food and rooms). We had a great time and I am so excited to be returning.

It is a little weird this time because I am traveling by myself, which I have never done. My husband can't come because of work (and the idiot hasn't gotten his passport yet

). Me - I need to get out of town for some R&R. I just got laid off from my job of 12 years .... I have been working my butt off and haven't had a vaction in almost 3 years (since my last visit to Playa) and how do I get thanked? My job gets outsourced to someone in India with less experience and knowledge. Bitter, me? Nah...

See my need for R&R??? Anyhoo....

I was certain that when we returned to Playa we would not do the AI again. We definitely wanted to stay in Playa in a smaller hotel. I don't drink and the food was forgettable, plus we didn't spend much time at the resort, always going somewhere. However, since its just me, I don't think I am going to be running around Playa by myself, so I decided to stay at Xpu-Ha at Catalonia Royal Tulum. I arrive on 7/12 and leave on the 16th.

I was thinking about going on one excursion. I'd like to go zip-lining and I found Edventure and Selvatica that both sound cool. I like Edventure because they go to Akulum and see the turtles. However, I feel like a dork going alone. It just seems like it would be more fun with DH. So, I am not sure I am going to go. I think I am being a big chicken. We did Tulum & Beyond last time and loved it.

Anyway, can't wait to get there and RELAX! I am soooo excited!

Sorry to hear about your job. That is such a terrible thing to go through.

There are so many fantastic people in Playa that you will not feel alone at all. Also, might want to start a thread regarding the ziplining, maybe you can get a group together, so you won't feel lonely.
