Yeah, it's almost the weekend!!
It sounds like there are some great weekend plans out there (Russ- I hope your weekend is fantastic, not sucky ![]() )! We just got back from a beautiful sunset dinner on the beach. Tomorrow is a half day for both of us, so we'll likely hit up the beach for our every-other-week Friday afternoon brews-n-bobbin' The rest of the weekend looks beautiful as well, so I see lots of beach time and grillin' in our near future Kinda hard to find anything to complain about.....

Weekend Party Threads: Old Friends
Hi all,
Tonight Larry and Joan were over. I have written about their son, our chef friend here. I knew Larry and Joan for years before their son was born. Tomorrow they will be here, and Michael and Lisa. I met Michael in January of 1973, our first semester out of the military. They all pre-date me meeting Kathy, who I have been married to for 32 years. They were all at our wedding. Old friends, what a hoot. I am smoking some ribs and chicken and salmon tomorrow. I'll get the ribs and chicken started and then go give a one hour presentation on program assessment. After I get home from that, I'll break open the first bottle of wine and check the smoker. It is going to be a great weekend!!! |

I am just curious. being from TX there aren't many things I love more than smoked chicken and ribs. Come to think of it I read on the internet that liberals don't eat pork so what do you think you are doing anyway

This is what they look like ![]() Description: Country-style ribs are cut from the sirloin or rib end of the pork loin. The meatiest variety of ribs, country-style ribs are sold either as “slabs” or in individual servings. These pork ribs are perfect for those who want to use a knife and fork. I rub them with whatever spices I throw together - garlic powder, cumin, chile powder, salt, pepper, and so on - some chinese 5 spice can be good. put then on a water smoker and use hickory for the smoke |
