The Reef Coco Beach v.s. Copacabana

I have a reservation for the Reef Coco Beach resort for February 2004. Reading a lot of negative reviews I am considering changing my reservation to Copacabana Resort. Comparing the pictures of both resorts, it seems to me that Copacabana looks much better than RCB. Moreover, if I am not mistaken, the beach looks much better at the Copacabana.
I go on vacation to enjoy a nice beach and all those boats in the water right on the shore by RCB do not look as a nice spot to be.

Does anyone have been to both resorts ? It just a shame that so many people are disappointed with RCB.

I have visited Paradisus Riviera Cancun and Palladium resorts right after they were built and enjoyed both of them. Will I be disappointed with Copacabana?
Thank you in advance for all your help.

Well, no one can decide for you whether or not to switch your reservation but these are my thoughts:

The Copa is NOT the Paradisus or the Palladium. These are 5-6 star resorts. The Copa is a solid 4. Having said that, you will find 4 star accomodations and 4 star food. However, I think the Paradisus has a terrible beach and the Copa's is much nicer... it's also nicer than the RCB as well. Food at the Copa is "good", nothing spectacular but certainly edible. All in all, the Copa is a good hotel for the money. It's usually not too expensive (compared to most of the others anyway) and I think you get what you pay for there. If so many people are coming back from the RCB with negative reviews, I'd really give some though to switching. Then again, you could be pleasantly surprised and have a great time. Ya just never know.

Good luck with whichever you choose!
