New Years Eve Group Plans?
![]() Hi everyone, I know its early, but I am as in past posts going to be bringing a family group through Playa for 5 days over the New Years Festivities. Does anyone have any thoughts on events to not miss at this time, events that are okay for all ages I do have teenagers who are looking for fun and excitement, but also a Grandma and Grandpa and two smaller kids as well. For example: Is there fireworks? : Centro activities : Any type of annual events that happen in the area. : I am guessing if we want dinner for all of us we should do a pre reservation somewhere along fifth to watch the festivities. Thanks in advance for any information or thoughts on this.... |

The area around 5th and 12th will be especially crowded. I don't remember fireworks last year - but that's not surprising

Hahahaha....love that Babaloo...
I have been to Playa many times, but never during the New Years. I imagine it is crazy, perhaps a bit crazier than we can handle, but would so love to watch the festivities from perhaps a 2nd floor balcony. Can you suggest one??? I actually have a family that will enjoy the festivities and it will be good family fun... I can't wait, will have to scope out a place when down in September. Keep the info comin' |

Was in Playa for NYE 08. Nothing spectacular other than the crowds. The only difference was the festive mood of everyone. The group I was with, although they were drinkers, none were the "going out to dinner" types. I would have liked to find a decent restaurant and had a good meal, good wine..instead we just kinda wondered around.
Reminded me of when I was a teenager. Looking at this year again in Playa, but will be with like minded people who enjoy good food, good wine and good friends. Like the grown-ups do .

Anything in Playa will be fantastic as we will have come from a family wedding in Mahahual, we love Mahahual, but we will be one family in one small boutique hotel in an area outside of the main town. I am quite sure we will be craving crowds and noise by day 15 of our adventure.
Can't wait, not into the Club Scene, but love the outdoors and wandering 5th. Can anyone suggest a nice restaruant, which may or may not have a New Years Dinner Special that can seat us with a view of the street 5th. There will be 20 or more of us. I know many places by look, but not by name. I just found the name of my favorite place Casa de Agua for a glass of my favorite white and a Mexican Lime Soup at the very back table with a view of Cozumel.....who would have known..... Again, TX for the help
