Secrets Capri Review

Just returned from Secrets, the place is absolutlely beautiful, all the reviews are correct. They are still new with few minor problems. If you want to relax this is definitely the place. The only thing there were a bunch of inconsiderate people staying there were loud and rudewe called the women the human horn  , other than that It was a perfect vacation.

One thing about weather, it is unpredictable. it goes from hot to cold.. nights we needed a jacket. Also, the pool one side is heated the other isn't, we found that out 2 days later. lol....

The food is great, i think I gained 10 lbs there. :P
Thank God there was a gym..
I will definitely recommend it...

Need info on Secrets

My husband and I will be going to Secrets on 1/17/04. From your post it sounds great. I have a couple of questions. Are the rooms in close proximity to the beach and the restuarants? How far of a cab ride to the town of Playa Del Carmen (where the ferry is) and lastly can I go topless on the beach or by the pool? Did you see any other topless people there? Oh, one more, is there a game room and do they have boogie boards? Thanks for any reply.

As far as i know you wont be doing much boogieboarding. From what I see in pictures and have heard is that there are practically no waves to be spoken of.

Yes, the rooms are close to everything. It will cost you ten dollars for the cab ride each way in U.S. dollars. We saw people topless in the pool area and thr beach. The have pool tables, ping pong etc., no video games. Go to PDC everynite, you won't regret it.

I saw 2 women topless on the beach, (which really shouldn't be) no one was topless at the pool.

Rooms are not far from beach. If you want to be close I suggest the ground level near the pool. It's like having a cabana.

TOPLESS!!!!

Are you people crazy! You can't say topless here, or you will risk the thread being shut down!

Secrets Capri

Secrets sounds like a wonderful resort and I am SO looking forward to the trip we'll be making there the first week in February. I'm very happy to hear there is not alot of night life at the resort. Just quiet times to share with the one I love. Has anybody visited Xel-Ha? If so, can you share your experience? Include any suggestions about places to go and things to see. Thanks!

Yes, there is a iron and a ironing board in the closet. Also a hair dryer in the bathroom drawer.

Tripster, we went to Xel-Ha twice. It was great. The first time we did the whole tour starting at the top. They bring you up by bus and you get into the water and snorkle down to the huge opening. Some advise...go by the bridge to snorkle. There were tons of Parriot fish, etc. we even saw a sea turle. We are going again during our week at Secrets. They offer tours of Xel-Ha/Tulum. My husband has bad hips so the bus actually drops us off at Xel-Ha and we spend the whole day there. I know a lot of the people that went to Tulum first say there is not enough time spent at Xel-Ha. So if you can just go directly to Xel-Ha. For the price, you get lunch and I think a coupon for a drink. I can't wait to get back there myself. :P

Iva, how far is it to Xel-Ha? It sounds great! We aren't going to be there long but would like one adventure. Besides that just to relax on the beach (without the kids )
