Reputable Jewelry Shops in PDC

Just want some names of some shops that have genuine stones and silver for sale. We will be staying at the Labnah Hotel at Xmas.

Good question.

And may I add any reputable shops that repair jewelry (broken links and so on) in PDC as well?

might be an oxymoron, jk
with all the upscale stuff there is now, i suspect some of it is real
silver, for sure, is good, large range of prices for the same stuff
after they weigh it, you have a pretty good idea what the price should be

Don't make the mistake I made and pay the sliver price per g for a mostly stone piece. At least I felt short changed later

If you have something specific in mind you want to purchase, do some research on it before you go so you know what you're buying. That said, I've had very good luck buying some great pieces in Playa. On my last trip I was very disappointed in what I saw and didnt buy a thing. I'm hoping my upcoming trip will be better.

I've heard there's a fantastic jewelry shop in Tulum...ask Silvergirl. I think she also had some photos in one of her trip reports.

I find the silver in Playa to be way over-priced.

How did you find the prices to be at the shop in Tulum?

Here is the link to the thread discussing Vincente's shop in Tulum:

Diamond International does a great job repairing jewelry. We've used the one down around 4th. They re-sized a ring I took down there that I got when Tammy's father passed away. Tammy bought a new (bigger) Tanzinite stone. They put it in the old setting and built a band around the stone to protect it. They charged us $25 US to take the old stone and mount it in a necklace for our daughter. They did a great job on all of it. It took 1 day for the Tanzinite exchanges.

Vicente's prices were reasonable. I still haggled with him!
But his jewelry is mostly with stones, so you have to know the value of them.

Definitely. The best places to get silver are in Zihuantanejo and Puerto Vallarta...close to Taxco.
