Day 10 – Tuesday
We spent the day how most days in Playa should be spent – lying out on the beach!   We managed to get one of the double beds by the pool in the afternoon which is such a god send when you’re hungover.    This is one of those photos that remind me just how gorgeous Ste is:  I don't know what it is about it I just love it!   It was just a really lovely relaxing day doing absolutely nothing! There are no photos of this night, and if we’re being honest I can’t remember what we did, but I know it will have been a quiet one! Day 11 – Wednesday No photos of the day today, but I can tell you now we well have spent it sunbathing! Tonight our night out was actually a night in! A night in the onsite club!  We came to Mexico fairly last minute last year, and couldn’t REALLY afford it plus the prices of everything over there had risen, so to save money we decided to have a night in the hotel club – and it was really good too! We went to the bar on the Quetzal side until the club opened as the bar on the Tucan side was BUSY this year. On the Quetzal side there was just us and a Scottish group who had been using the bar all holiday as had cottoned on to how much quieter it was. It was great, the drinks kept being replaced the minute they were gone and we ate more popcorn than I would at the cinema!  We did some shots with our new Scottish friends, talked a bit about how Ronaldo is better than George Best ever was (they were older than us and obviously disagree – it’s the same argument we have with Ste’s dad on a regular basis!). After this we went to the club and the Scottish group went to bed as if I remember rightly they were off home the next morning. The music in the club was fine, it wasn’t very busy but then nowhere in Playa was last year. We had a really good night and the drinks are STRONG. There was some crazy old guy dancing away on the dancefloor on his own all night which provided a lot of entertainment.   When the club closed we decided to order 4 amaretto and diet cokes (for me) to take back to the hotel room – as there was beer in there already in the mini bar for Ste. However upon getting back to the room Ste drank three of the four amaretto and diet cokes and we ended up falling asleep.  Not quite the party animals we thought we were!  Day 12 – Thursday I think we can safely say we spent this day recovering – there are no photos and I really can’t remember what we did I’m afraid! |
