Angel Notion has wants/needs
Hi Everyone,
Angel Notion is in need of items and is asking both locals and visitors if they can help out. In case you don't know Angel Notion helps bring medical care to those in need in Playa del Carmen and the surrounding areas. They do great things like have doctors from the states who volunteer time and money to perform surgery on children cleft palates - to taking kids to the states for heart surgery - to dental work- ob care- to small things like classes for locals on diabetes... You can learn more at www.angelnotion.org They need simple things always like tongue depressors and qtips and 80mg asprin for kids post sugery. Also neosporin creme and the like. Anything you'd find a doctors office in the states...they need! They also need kitchen supplies -utinsels, bowls, glasses, plate, cups etc....for their very small/old kitchen where they teach classes on nutrition for locals with diabetes and heart disease. Oh, and volunteers to paint inside their clinic. If anyone here has kitchen supplies they can donate, please contact me via PM. I'll be happy to collect the supplies and give to Angel Notion...or you can take them directly to angel notion if you want. If anyone visiting town can bring supplies let me know..and I will pick them up. Or I am sure Carboncitos will let you drop them off there as they are big supporters of Angel Notion too. As long as we can help..it doesn't matter who gets the supplies to Angel Notion. And if you can/want to paint...maybe we can pick a day and a bunch of us go and paint... Thanks for listening....And let me know if you have anything you can donate!!!! |

Thanks. I know that they do need lots of volunteers.
can you paint? I am getting details from Angel Notion about their immediate need to paint a room in the interior of the building. Can you do that? I can get people to help too... Let me hear back from them....and I will let you know. Also if you want to PM me your email address I can put you in touch with one of the women there.. ..I know they always need volunteers of various types..... So YEAH! Yes! We will use your time!!! as much as you will give!!! |

We'll be there in a week (arriving Oct 3) and will bring some of the medical office supplies listed. I always bring the aspirin, and I'll add the other items to my shopping list for this trip. We usually drop them at Carboncitas - thanks to Russell for providing a quick and convenient drop off place for visitors.
If you guys end up painting that week, Mark and I will try to take part. I'll PM you my email. Laurie |

Marissa:
Thank you so much for posting this! I brought some meds in June and dropped them off at Carboncitos. When we booked our trip for November, I posted on the old thread about things they needed, but got a very vague response. So a big thanks for posting this!! On the kitchen utensils... do they have to be new?? I have a ton of utensils I just found packed in our garage when we moved that I can go through and bring a few items with me in November. started checking out the chewable low dose aspirin already... got a few tubes of Neosporin already, will try to pick up more stuff next time I'm at the store. |

Hi. I will ask exactly what they need but from what I've been told they have close to nothing so everything can be used. Whatever you can bring will be used I am sure!!!! Thanks so much for doing this!!! |

Lucy, You completely ROCK! Any and all kitchen utensils will be accepted. They do not have to be new. I do not think the expect new anything! It's not the chewable low dos asprin...but the 80 mg childrens asprin. I think there is a difference. I found the 80miligram asprins so easily at walmart in the states. Gosh, Thanks again to everyone who is willing to help! |

Thanks Marissa:
yes, you are correct, the low dose one, not the children's one.. sorry... I guess because they give them to the children, I put children, but they are the regular ones. But because they are for children, they do ask to get the chewable ones to make it easier for the children to take.... ok did I confuse anyone?? ![]() Great news on the utensils... I will look through all the stuff I just found, there is bound to be some fairly new stuff in there! ![]() I can just imagine what customs would think of my bag... doggy stuff, kitty stuff, kitchen utensils, meds, colors, coloring books, notebooks, notebook paper and oh yeah... our clothes and shoes ![]()
