3-Month rental wanted: 800$-900$ mo reasonable for a 1 br/fully furnished?
Ok then, so here's the thing...
A bit of background info: My daughter and I will be visiting PDC this coming November and staying at the Grand Sunset Riviera (family reunion thing). After much research, my daughter has decided she'd like to stay in PDC and immerse herself in the local culture (go to language school, learn spanish, shop, eat, perhaps find volunteer work, etc). It is my intention to use our time together while staying at the Grand Sunset to go into PDC and look/research a few apartments or apartm-condos in the downtown PDC area, and maybe - just maybe (if we're lucky) possibly sign a lease for a long term rental (3 months) for her. Her dates are flexible, but she is looking for Feb - April rental. The thing is, everywhere I've researched (vrbo.com, etc) seem to offer rates on a weekly basis - way beyond what my daughter has budgeted for herself. Is 800$ - 900$ a month unreasonable for a 1-BR, fully furnished, from JAN - APRIL 2010 (like I said, her dates are flexible). All she would need is a one-bedroom (or studio, or loft), fully furnished & equipped. As we will be in PDC Nov 7-14) we can physically check out an address. My primary concerns for an apartment-condo are: - Her safety - security - cleanliness - within walking distance to grocery stores, bank, transportation, laundry, (language) school, etc - WiFi - non smoking I realize this may be a late request, but I sure would appreciate any helps or tips!! Thank you kindly for reading! ~app |

check out www.andale.com.mx Click the Clasificados link... She would want a place most likely in the "centro" area. Rents are down right now, although the time you are looking for is the HIGH season. Most likely, people are wanting you to sign 6 month leases at minimum. BUT, you will find some 1 bedrooms now that would fit your budget, even if you had to pay the six month lease.
A lot of people on here make their livings, or supplement them with hotels, condo sales, rentals etc. And I would say that it doesn't really profit them to help people save a lot of money, especially with the economy the way it is. But, if you have a limited budget, and aren't able to accomplish your goals without finding a good deal, then it's really not their loss. So, I hope this helps.... |
