The druck driver, from Emerson Arkansas insisted on calling the police. Glad he did as although we lost about one hour, the cop turnet out to be a really funny Native American, who made tons of jokes on Italian dad and daughter ![]() ![]() ![]() . I'm trying to convince bees to go visit Acoma ( on top of a mesa), but he wants to skip it and go to Gallup!
First argument on the route to take...I know how to be pushy, so I WILL TRY MY BEST! CHEER FOR ME, PEOPLE! ![]()

Well I hope you're having fun, despite the challenges. Although that's what makes a trip into an adventure.
BTW, it's worth trying the Lost and Found department at Cancun airport to see if they have your purse. Go towards the right hand end of the check-in desks, look for a gap between them with some stairs going up. Go up, then walk right to the end of the long corridor to find an open office space. One of the men working here is in charge of Lost and Found. Good luck! |

Of all the places we visited in the area, I guess we liked Monument Valley the best of all. Simply AMAZING! Be sure to stay at GOULDING'S LODGE. Simply an AMAZING view! ![]() WooHoo! Guess what's playing right now on Sirius Channel 16 "Deep Tracks!" Route 66 by the Rolling Stones!

First ~ and probably last ~ time we have ever driven 50 miles RT for a 6 pack of beer! We drove up to to the little town of Mexican Hat to buy the beer, and I was a bit nervous about that ~ thinking that *maybe* the small town might possibly some fundamental Morman community with no alcohol sales. I needed have worried! The small store we went into for our purchase was jam packed with all manner of beer brands ~ actually ~ a really outstanding display! Must be LOTS of folks who do that run. Speaking of the restaurant at Gouldings ~ I had a good chuckle when a group of Brits who were on tour were told no alcohol ~ BUT! They could enjoy NA wine with their dinner. Lots and lots of grumbling ensued! The food there was REALLY excellent. I tried making their green chile stew with fry bread when we got home ~ it was OK, but not nearly as good as the real thing. Just enter the reservation "prepared" if you drink. |

wow!! I just found an internet cafe finally...and so many GOOD ADVICE!
We did stay at Gouldings and bees ordered ( or tried to) order beer .Monument valley is amazing, my heart is filled with memories. There is a new Hotel, called The Vie ( same navajo owners are the El rancho in gallup) and it has THE MOST FANTASTIC REAL VIEWS ON THE VALLEY... but we didn't know of course...we saw it at departure ( of course) ![]() |

Well, fun isn't the exact word ( I'm with my 70 year old dad
)...but I'm having a good time, seeing amazing places, I love the open spaces and the friendliness of all people, regardless of which state you are in ( worst in chicago, like all big cities, but still friendly).I won't be flying back to Cancun ( taking the bus fron D.F) but I'll check with lost and found when I get back. I still have to figure out how to tell migra at D.F airport that I have lost the paper they gave me..and how to get on the 24 hour bus ( ticket wasd also lost) ![]() Quote:
