I forgot to mention you, Steve and all you did to make our stay enjoyable. We greatly appreciate all you have done for us. We did have a great day at Tulum. The driver dropped us off at the beach and we walked to the beach club Ana Y Jose and practically had the beach to ourselves. Meant some nice girls from Belguim.

Pablo and Nora were wonderful with the guests. The vibe I got from guests was one of gratitude for the extra effort you put in to make everyones stay as enjoyable as possible. I even recommened the Playa Maya to a gentleman from Minnesota on the ADO bus back to the airport.

We were in Cancun over Christmas and stayed at our favorite Cancun hotel. The beach has been completed there and is bigger than post Wilma restoration. I believe the manager said it was 60 meters wide. They have removed the whales and jetties that cause the problem. As said before the sand is crushed coral but is easy on the tender feet and fluffy

OK my new photos of Playa del Carmen beach from this morning Thursday 21st Jan :

View North from around 14th St. looking at the Gran Porto Real. Note there is still a bulldozer here and i think they are still working on flattening this out as it does show significant 'sand-cliffs' similar to my photos of Cancun beach (see earlier in thread). :

Shot taken at around 12th St., looking south :

Another shot taken this morning looking south. See 'El Faro' lighthouse on right side. I paced out the distance from the top edge of the sand to Zenzi bar on 10th St. and it's 70yards. (210feet). Close to my prediction of around 60yards of beach :

another shot with el faro /zenzi in background, 70yards away :

View from Bad Boys Beach bar around 2 hours ago :

Is she still holding out on that trip?

Well, if you come down, you know you have built in travel friends to hang with that are right next door!

Due to the new sand at the beach I got some increditable shells this AM! Even found some almost whole conch shells. Left all but on of those, kept one to use as a napkin holder while we are here.

Anyone know if the depth of the water near the shore has decreased much since our new Frankenstein-beach has been installed?

Will I get in trouble if I say that I think that, as it is right now that the beach is to wide. It has been said by the beach restoration people that they figure they will lose about half of what they did. I think that would be OK.
