--===* I NEED A BOAT *==--

Okay I know there are only a small handfull of locals here, Steve, James, Anna and a couple others. But do any of you guys know how I can get a boat in these parts? I want a small boat, with a small motor. I noticed there is no boat launch, and all the mexicans tie their boats up to buoys just off the beach in designated areas. I am looking for a cheap small used boat, nothing fancy, just something to get around in for snorkeling and fishing.

So I am trying to figure out

1) costs
2) the deal on tying your boat up
3) if I should just try for a blow up and stick a small motor on that
4) if I need to know much to use a small craft in this area (dangers)
5) where to get them (besides the blow ups in sports shops)

Any help mucho apreció!

walk down the beach talking to the captains, (how is your Spanish? )let it be known that you are looking for a boat. Everyone I know has ended up going to the west coast of the Yucatan and bringing a boat back from there.

Dangers: there are a lot of reefs, and currents, see if you can't work with a local captain for a while to find out about safe operation in the area.

Can't help you with the docking arrangements.

Boats

Yes well I made friends with some Mexicans and they say they have fisherman friends so he is going to look into renting or buying a boat for me. I think renting makes more sense, so I don't have to worry about as much. I may just head to Cancun and look for a sturdy inflatable and a small elecrtic or 4hp engine or something cheap, light and portable.

I found these guys who make folding boat! Ha ha check it out

Crappy site maybe I can trade them for a redesign or something, no prices either
