SOH....Save Our Honeymoon
Can someone help me? I'm trying to plan my honeymoon, and I'm trying to get feedback on any of the following hotels that I've been looking at:
1. Aventura Spa Palace 2. Bahia Principe Tulum-Akumal 3. Desire Resort & Spa 4. Gran Porto Real Resort & Spa 5. Mosquito Blue So far, I'm pushing towards the Desire and the Grand Porto. My soon-to-be wife loves the whole pampering thing, and I definitely love the ALL INCLUSIVE thing. You all seem so knowledgable, so I could help but ask for your assistance. Thanks in advance, and everyone have a blessed and safe New Years  |

ASP
Borngod -- congrats on your upcoming marriage and honeymoon. We recently stayed at Adventura Spa Palace and would go back in a heartbeat -- but we love trying new things so we are heading to Secrets this time. With ASP -- loved the SPA facilities -- it is total pampering. Awesome pampering! The jacuzzi for 2 in the bedrooms can add some fun to a honeyroom! Granted ASP is a large facility -- but the way it is set up you really feel secluded. We go to Mexico in January and then head to Sandals each June (for our anniversary). In our humble opinion, the Mexican resorts are giving the Carribean resorts a run for their money -- which is why we head back to Mexico each year.
Best of luck and congrats again! Moonlight in Georgia |

Thanks Moonlight for the feedback
I've spoken with a travel agent who gave similiar feedback, but they also said that ASP has a manmade beach lagoon. What's your opinion on this? Will we have access to REAL beautiful beaches close by? Thanks again

1. Aventura Spa Palace - (only one I've been to on your list) -there's lots of trip reports about this place (mine included), just do some searching. Adults only, lots of honeymooners, fabulous spa, beautiful property, no funky reservation schemes for dinner....no real beach (manmade lagoon, which does have its advantages) but if you want real beach just taxi over (5 mins and $6.50 US) to Xpu-Ha (a Palace resort, where you have full priveleges) or walk over to the beach through the Omni hotel in Puerto Aventuras (15 minute walk, bring your own towels and soft-sided cooler filled with water and beer from the mini fridge and enjoy)
2. Bahia Principe Tulum-Akumal 3. Desire Resort & Spa - Couples only. Markets to Lifestylers, although not exclusively. Great choice if you don't care for tanlines. 4. Gran Porto Real Resort & Spa - only AI truly in PDC 5. Mosquito Blue |
