shrimp taco hot sauce
Hi, everyone,
Have not been around the forum for a while. Been home since Feb and really wanted shrimp tacos this week. I looked all over the internet for a recipe for the hot sauce like they use at Pinche Gringo and could find nothing - I am sure it is habanero based but it looks like a green mayo in a squeeze bottle. All I could find is habanero salsa and that was closer to what they have on the carts with the cochinita pibil. Does anybody have any idea of the recipe or even the ingredients? Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA |

Hmmmm, looks like green mayo and pretty sure it is habanero based
might want to try mayo, cilantro and habanero and then some lime juice ![]() Thanks - will try it soon. If anybody else has some suggestions, please chime in here.

Try La Floresta
Whenever I come to Playa, I stop at La Floresta on the highway in Playa for their great shrimp tacos and a beer. They have the same or a similar sauce. If you ask them, they will sell you a small bottle for a couple of bucks. We use it while we are in our condo, and then take it back with us to the states. It will really make you sweat.
