My wife got a case of Poison Ivy last year that was extremely severe. Went two rounds of steroids before it went away. It really took a toll on her. |

If I have to do a second round of steroids, I might kill someone ![]() They make me so jumpy (even the lower dose I'm on now)- I'm having a really hard time sleeping. Round 2 of running again today- this time it was much cooler/overcast/lower humidity. So nice! I didn't remember my watch, but judging by my playlist, I was booking it It felt so good to open up and go! Round 3 is tomorrow- I think I'm finally back![]() Jevans- jeez, man- you continue to amaze me! Great stuff! |

Going for a run after I finish my coffee. Humidity's still low today, so it should be a fun one

![]() Took the last two days off in a sort of as an unintentional taper for my big ride tomorrow morning. Went to the Twins game last night, pigged out on chicken fingers and fries (and cheesecurds), and two crappy beers. Woke up wide awake this morning at 6, so got right up and decided to run the crap out of my system. Let's just say that plan worked to a T!! ![]() ![]() Ran to the trail right in our neighborhood that has a short MTB single track trail in addition to some nice XC ski trails. About a mile into it, the wrath of the chicken tenders and tap bud lights struck something fierce. Had to turn around and dart out of the woods to the trailhead to use the porta potty that I was lucky to remember was there. Not exactly losing my gloves, but I think it still counts JG!! Ended up turning back into the woods and finishing the 5k loop, then ran an extra mile on the way home, then did some short hill repeats on my backyard hill to wake up the quads and butt for my ride tomorrow. The weather looks like it's going to cooperate perfectly! I'm planning on setting out the door at 4:30 am . This is before dawn, but it starts to get light just before 5 lately, so I'll be riding my really familiar roads early on in the twilight, then I hope to be out of the cities before 7 am. This should get me to the end of my bike trail by 7:45, then onto the country roads up the river and through the farm fields and hopefully to the cabin before 10 am. Just in time for all of my friends to be waking up from their shenanigans the night before and in time for homemade egg mcmuffins! (it's all planned around food in my world ). Then it's a day full of tubing and pontooning and grilling and more cheap Wisconsin beer!

And very exciting for your dad! I have a friend that is doing the Louisville IM in a few weeks and is running the Racine, Wisc half Iron this weekend before he starts his taper. He's very nervous/excited/emotional too! When do you two leave for California then? |

I leave on the 26th and dad and rest of the family get out there on the 27th. It will give dad 3 full days to relax before the race. I will be sure to take plenty of pictures on race day. I am going to volunteer pretty much all day, gives me something to do then worry about where dad is the whole day. |

I've heard the day before IM is almost as stressful as the day-of itself, with all the lines at the different check-ins and drop offs... Looking forward to seeing the pics and reading your race report! |

I will go with him, just him and I. Kind of a tradition now it seems. We will take the time to drive the bike/run course as well. This one isn't an IRONMAN branded race, so it shouldn't be as busy. |

PG- I am NOT going in for round 2 as far as I know
![]() But thanks And nice workout! I think it totally counts- JG would've used the porto juan if he'd had the opportunity![]() TJ- Nice job on the 4 miles! So exciting for your dad- can't wait to read the report! It was a great day for a run, so I decided to throw in an extra loop, making my total around 4 miles on the trail today That's as far as I've gone since BPI (before poison ivy), so I'm happy! I wanted to do the loop again- but Zoe was looking pretty deflated, so I figured we better get home......she also found some really nice, wet poo to roll in, so the run back (behind her) smelled awesome
