Bean and I talked about the marathon again last night. She's on board, then threw in "I'll do it too!"

I am super pumped that she wants to run (she still has to see her doc for the routine post-baby check up, but she's feeling A-okay), but had to inform her that my buddy is putting this together as a guys road trip kind of thing. I couldn't care either way if she came with and ran, to be honest. But thought she'd feel kind of out of place, and since I was invited to join the group, I wasn't in the best place to invite others.

"Oh, no thanks then," was her response. Still good to go for me though.

But, she is now thinking of doing a different one...and she asked me if I would run another one WITH her, at her pace.

I may now suddenly be pulling a double marathon year in 2011...and I'm kind of excited about it...

Time to rearrange the training schedule again...good thing it's not in writing anywhere yet
Two things: 1) the phrase "post-baby check up" terrifies me. See, I don't have kids and don't want them so anything related to birthing them causes me to do involuntary kiegel exercises & causes my ovaries to begin screaming (kind of like when kids have temper tantrums...my ovaries actually shrivel up & fall out...no lie! ). 2) double marathon in 2011? Um, other Playa boys....PG would be THE Jedi Master...the YODA of this thread.

Just sayin'....step it up....pu$$ies.

LOVE THAT QUOTE! My dream is to take, at least, a year off from reality and live someplace where Steve can become a divemaster and make a living (be it ever so meager). That's on our list o'things to do in our short time on this planet and I'm hell bent to make it happen! That, and run more.

That's right J-Dog. You better step your game up!!!

Now, for my accountability....

Um, I didn't do a damn thing. Can you guys start calling me a bad name (like Republican or something like that) to motivate me?

OK! I'm on it. Tomorrow morning, I'm going for a run with Bronson (my rottie). Will report in. Then, I have 5-6 hours of tattooing, if I can last that long again. Sunday, I'll go for a niiiiiice, looooong hike with the mutts & Steve-O.

I remember a while back when we were discussing last names in a different thread, and you said yours rhymed with a male body part.

Since then, I have always thought of you as Rebecca Enis.

No kidding.

Pretty sure the decision on Chi Marathon 2011 will be made during this date night as well, most likely influenced by alcohol, but I think I've already got my mind set anyway.

Will report with the decision...

Had the talk with the other couple within about 20 minutes of their arrival.

Before he really asked me again, he asked Bean if she was in. Her eyes lit up, and said "heck yeah!" He said he changed his mind on the whole guys trip and just wanted to get as big of a group as possible down there for a roadie.

But, she also said she might think about doing a different one still, just because she really wants someone to run at her pace with her, as she realizes that if we go down with a group, it would be more fun to let the reigns loose on me and let me run my own race. We're still figuring it out between us, but either way we're each in for one for sure.

We decided that we'd have the plan figured out by Jan 1st so we can plan our training...just in time for the 2011 thread!

And Pecker (new moniker for sure!), as for the post-baby check-up, I'm with ya. Having taken all the pre-med classed in college, I know the details, so I don't ask any, but she confirmed that she's pretty sure she's back to "normal." That's all I want/need to know...

Accountability: We received 11 inches of wet, heavy snow all day yesterday. Skated with Landon at his hockey clinic in the afternoon, then came home and shoveled for little over an hour. Sticky, slushy, wet heavy crap. Had to take off the jacket half way through due to sweat. The plows hadn't gone through yet, so I left the bottom of the driveway alone. Pounded two Aleve and woke up with a nice, tight back and sore legs (lift with your legs people! ) Plows came through at midnight last night, and I now have an even 3 foot wall down there that needs removing. Was hoping to make it to the gym today for a light run and swim. We'll see how hockey goes with Landon again today.

Thank you, Mother Nature, for planning my weekend workouts...

Snow?! Not acceptable. At least it's warm and sunny here- we're a looooong way from snow (I hope). Shoveling is a damn good workout, though

I love the attitude this thread is taking Great accountability And I love that PG is planning a marathon (possibly 2). This will make for great reading in 2011!

I haven't run as much this week because nature has been conspiring against me. I did a couple of short (3 mile) road runs and a bunch of long (hour-hour and a half) hikes in the woods with my pup. I have too much guilt about leaving her behind when I run, and I've decided that I can't run on the trails until some of the leaves blow off. I managed to twist my ankle (not too bad) just walking on the trail, so running is out of the question. I haven't attempted the beach run yet, because we've had this stupid nor'easter hanging around, making the beach a miserable place to be Ah, the joys of fall on the eastern coast

I also had an extremely healthy day yesterday- it started off well with an early morning almost 2 hour hike, but rapidly went downhill after that. We volunteered at an event called Wingfest and partook in all-you-can-eat wings and beer. After that, we went to the annual party at our Ag hall- a dessert potluck with free beer and wine. Mmmmm- dessert. We then capped our night off with a midnight snack of leftover pizza before bed I did dance my face off at the party, but somehow I doubt that made up for the caloric intake of the day So to recap: beer, wings, dessert buffet, beer, wine, pizza. Awesome

Well, my 4th day on this stupid JG diet! I cheated and ate a spoonful of natural peanut butter before my killer workout yesterday. Came home and ate a huge bowl of steamed broccoli. Then for another workout went out and mulched aspargus, strawberry and herb beds.

I'm sort of hungry but not really starving, surprise, surprise.

Today after my workout at the Y we get weighed for our 2nd week of the Survive the Holidays! I have done 7 scheduled workout classes this week, along with 3 30 minutes sessons on the epilipical. I better weigh less!

4 runs this last week between 3 and 4.5 miles with a couple of 400 foot elevation gains in short distances on trails and road....some weights thrown in....
no way in hell I am capitulating to age although my sub 8 minute mile days are gone.....and I can barely see my old 7 minute miles days in the very distant past.....

Oh, I forgot to mention....big props for getting out there and doing it with all that snow.....it's a solid 75F here today.
Can't wait to move to La Paz in a few years where the cold will be a very distant memory.

Another thing....I started a blog today, that's how inspired I am.

I know you have heard it all before, so I won't be surprised when you let it go in one ear and out the other, but today starts a new day for me
