I must really be a sissy
I ran just over a 5k at a slow 9 minute pace. I didn't really feel like pushing after almost of week of getting hammered at work with little sleep. Then I hit the weights hard and then a sauna.......
It was close to 70 and I was wearing shorts and a T-shirt. Good lord, I was chilly at first. I can't wait until I move to La Paz in a couple of years. |

nice job.![]() Took yesterday off. It was the last day of a 5 out of 7, 12 hour shift nights. Now I only work Monday then next weekend then PLAYA. Wanted to run 7 today but the riverwalk trail wasn't cleared so I had to run along the road that goes through the park. The last time I ran this route was early spring a couple of years ago. I was running repeat tempos down the road with my Jack Russell. A girl asked if she could take some pictures of us running. I said sure. Our picture ended up on the front page of the local paper. (5x7 above the fold) This is my biggest week of the month. So plan on hitting everything hard this week. Unless i catch Tammy's flu, that hit her Thursday at work. |

I was supposed to run a 5k race tomorrow but just found out it got cancelled.
I'll have to get out on the road and run anyway! ![]() Bosu class kicked butt last night! It was phenomenal - even better than last week! Tonight is group power for 60 mins and then.....then....I can't believe I'm doing this but I'm taking "Urban Striptease". ![]() ![]() ![]() LOL! I can't believe I'm actually doing it but I am. No poles involved and I'll be keeping all my clothes on. Steve is disappointed that its "women only".

An hour on the bike trainer today while I watched "Lost".
Found a 1st race of the year. Our town has a big St. Patrick's day race. We're usually still in Playa or just got back but it's late this year (March 21) so I'll be able to run it.

Ya- no running today for me. What a eh week. Jeremy braved it in the shin-deep snow, and only made it about a mile. He and Zoe were exhausted
I'm still not comfortable on the road- too icy/narrow/not enough places for me to jump off if need be. And I was too lazy to drive 1/2 hour to the HS and run on the track I opted for the dvd inside my warm house instead MAYBE manana I'll brave the trail- some more snow should have melted......so far this is the first week I haven't run at all. Meh

I guess I should restate "hammered".
![]() Nomenclature....... that means we were up most of the nights on 24 hour shifts enabling society. Got a 40 minute spin on the trainer today.....different muscles, or just more isolated..... Closer to 75 today. What the heck is up with winter around here?

Got out on a 7 miler today on a sunny/gorgeous day (although it was only in the low 20's). Probably would have gone further but TG needed me home for the kids as she was taking off.
Furthest I've gone since the frozen 1/2. It was awesome to be out there! Time just flew by. |

David, Frank, and JG- woo-hoo! Nice work guys
![]() ![]() So I guess I better post my accountability for my lame week. Monday- 3 miles walk/run (I only ran because the sun was rapidly setting- and only downhill, at that )Tues- upper/lower weights+abs Weds- nada ![]() Thurs- dvd, shoveling snow, upper weights Fri- nada- unless you count the 2 hours I spent working with an ox in the snow- helping to push 20ft logs onto his sled (or directing the kids to do it )Sat- dvd Sun- dvd+ upper weights/abs I totally wussed out on the running this week. Monday I was too tired from a late super bowl night Weds wasn't my fault- the trail was blocked and the road was too icy, but Sat and Sun I didn't want to run in the snow- it's so deeeeep (she says in her best whiny voice) Oh well- next week is a new week. Hopefully the dreaded snow will be gone soon.

Finished the week out with a 6 mile run today. Did the out and back course. Into the wind almost the entire out. Nothing to bad just a constant wind. It was nice to turn around and have it push me home. Ended up running real even pace. The first two miles and the last two where all within 10 seconds of each other. 3 and 4 are hilly and had more wind. That is one thing nice about the treadmill. It really helps you get a pace down. Now I just need to get faster.
Even though I've been running lots of 6 and some 7 milers I'm really not comfortable with that distance yet. I feel good up to 5 but really have to work after that. It's not that it's hard it 's just my legs get tiered, and I have to concentrate on my pace. The good news is that I was looking at some of my logs from 2007 and 2008 and my times are about where I was at this time of year then. Almost forgot. 28 miles on the bike trainer, and 23 miles running this week. 1 day off, no weights. Last edited by DavidB; 02-15-2010 at 12:02 AM.. |

I haven't been on my bike training once this year. I've been really bad about it. We just bought a 42 inch tv and it's set up in the basement where the bikes are. Really have no excuse now!
