I agree with this totally. I have always found the service a bit on the cool/businesslike side - but as long as the food is consistently yummy I don't need to be fawned over. I found the short dark woman who waited on us last at Babe's North to be a bit too unsmiling, not rude, just cold, kind of....but the food was great, so I didn't care too much. The drinks I agree with, they are mostly ice and not much taste. Fun to look at, maybe. That is kinda odd they wouldn't let you just sit and have drinks, duffey. Especially if they are empty. Drinks have the biggest markup, so why not, I wonder. I would hope that it is their policy at least. Weird.

I'm hoping North side is ok as we'll be up that way....
and I've had on my list to try the 'caipinrihas' but can someone help this poor gringo with how to pronounce it please? Thanks. Also wouldn't mind hearing a fave dish to try....

I feel like Babe's is sooo hit or miss. I personally love it, but I've taken friends/family with me and some hated it while others loved it. I will agree that I've had less than stellar service. I've also been served great food, and yummy drinks so I can deal with the crappy service. And since they already throw a gratuity onto the bill, I feel no need to add extra tip if I get the mean server. But usualllllly...I do add more of a tip because I love the food so gosh darned much!
As for the giant frozen margaritas? It's really all about the presentation. Frozen margaritas are most certainly a good way to get rid of the crappy tequila, but if you're in the mood for a good looking, frozen concoction...go for it! |

Haven't eaten there so can't comment on the food but
last year couldn't wait to try the frozen margaritas cuz all the pictures looked so inviting. However when I had one it was sooo disappointing, it tasted like a snow cone, just ice and a little juice. |

Careful, they are addictive. I love them in part because they're not as sweet as a Marg and less filling than beer. I good way to switch up your adult beverages. Off topic I know but there is a bar just south of Babes south that makes a really REALLY good one.
