There is another location on the north end that may be closer...someone will chime in with the location soon.

We stopped at Babes on the north end.Went in the bar for drink. They would not allow us to sit at the just to have a drink. you have to order food. The bar was empty and only two tables occupied outside.

WTF is that all about They must think their doing well enough to turn business away

Hopefully no one tosses a rotten tomato at me for this one, but when we were there in January of last year we gave Babe's a try for a Mango margarita after hearing so much about them on here(didn't try any of the food though).
Far less than impressed. It downright did not taste good. In fact, we could barely manage to drink/eat it at all. It did make for a good picture though, cause they are enormous.

I like Babes for the food! I tried one of those big icy drink things once and was not impressed. The drinks look good, but the food is good.

babe's

can not comment on exotic drinks ... screwdrivers are a great way to ruin vodka and orange juice at the same time ... you may have Mango Margarita Syndrome ... HOWEVER you must try the menu for some rather unique and delicious dishes ... very popular place for many years

Also everyone talks about the mojitos (they are good) but the caipinrihas are really good-and the spring rolls and the chicken satay and the meatballs .......

That's weird...I've sat at the bar several times and just had drinks. I will admit that from time to time I've had "snooty server" syndrome at Babe's, but in general, I LOVE it, it's probably my favorite restaurant in Playa for consistency.

We like the food a lot at Babes - agree tho - not so much those huge frozen drinks, so just don't get those there after the once! Don't care for frozen margs anyway (too much of a slurpie headache) so not really surprised didn't like them at Babes - on the rocks only. They DO do great smoothies tho.
