Tuesday.....waking up thinking it's going to be nice and warm..NOT!!!!
 After drinking my weight in wine the night before I wasn't feeling too good! We ordered room service, coffee please for me and LOTS of it! We didn't even make it to the breakfast buffet Every evening they slide the days activities sheet under the door! A few more pics from the balcony!   So we figure we'd jockey for our lounge chairs by the pool and hope the sun comes out  On the way to the pool a shot of the ground floor swim out pool rooms! Nice!  Pool! Notice, noone is in it!   We find some loungers and again, hope for some sun! This is NOT happening!  It's a good thing the loungers and towels were dark as they absorbed the 5-10 minutes of the suns warmth and kept us toasty! I mean who sits by the pool covered up in your towels to keep warm?!   We had lunch at one of the restuarants near the pool (sorry, no pictures), hung out by the pool for a while longer and finally called this "sun day" a bust! After the pool we headed to the coffee bar to gets ourselves some cappys. A resident of Secrets!  Back to the room...I'm freezing! Turn on the heat!!! Instead I take a nice jacuzzi! Grab a beer, light the incense they provide and turn on the "spa channel" on the TV that plays some relaxing and sometimes bizarre music! Anna Lynne hangs out at the desk and works! I swear this girl doesn't stop, even on "her" vacation! 15 minutes in the bath is enough for me (took 30 minutes for the bath to fill up! ) We do our usual hanging out at the lobby bar for some pre-dinner cocktails and head out to eat!Should we eat here????    This is Secrets Mexican restuarant. We are NOT eating outside tonite, still too cold! What's nice about Secrets is that you do NOT have to make a reservation for dinner!  Just show up and if they are full they give you a beeper and this will let you know when a table is ready for you!We spy lots of good tequilas in this place!    Would you like a shot??? Well of course we would!  The food...oh, the food!!! My appy, some kind of mushroom thing!  My entree! probably one of THE best steaks I have ever had!!! I think it was the "coffee dirt" they put in it!   My dessert! Something with a "rice mustache" More or less like a rice pudding soup! Oh soooo good! After dinner we really didn't feel like doing much (drinking!) so we head back to the room and chill. We are HOPING the next day will be a warm pool day as Rick and Vikki are coming out to spend the day with us!

Thanks for providing such a detailed report on this great resort...Shams, I especially appreciate all the comparitive details between the Grand and Secrets. This looks like a place that Charlie and I definitely need to try sometime.

Great trip report Ladies!!! Regardless of the weather, sounds like ya'll had a great time, as usual!!! Oh, how I would love to spend some partying time with you 2 in Playa. Hmmm, wonder what ever happened to Wimmens Week?????

I don't have many day 2 photos, I think my camera was frozen.
But I did take this up close and personal shot of our pool pal: Another shot of my girlyfriend taking her tubby:   And Linda, here's a description of your "moustached" dessert!  And my red snapper something or other - with a potato flower.  My dessert, it was some kind of brownie with ice cream. That crunchy triangle thing on top was SO yummy!  And I liked these lights in the restaurant:

Wednesday....YAY!!! Vikki and Rick are coming to visit for the day!
They bought a day pass and were able to use ALL the facilities (food, drink, etc..) from 9am-5pm. It's a good thing they picked this day to visit as it was the ONLY day we had consistent sun and pleasant temps!First a trip to the breakfast buffet!    Yep! Make your own Mimosas, Bloody Marys!  My girlfriend was kind enough to go to the pool early and get us some chairs by the pool! (yes, we played the towel game...ya have too! )Not sure what kind of drinks these were but they sure were good!  Rick "manned up" and got into the unheated pool! He was the only one that did! At Secrets they come around the pool with food!  You don't ever have to leave your chair to eat and drink! AnnaLynne, Vikki and I went down to the beach. It's a beautiful beach, no one was really hanging out there as the wind was very strong and cold out of the north! The sand was even cold!!    It's a tradition......3 years running now!  After the 4, yes only 4 hours of sun Vikki headed to our room to take a bath. AnnaLynne, Rick and I headed to the coffee bar to get our afternoon fix! Secrets has shallow pools running through the resort. Ya think?????  The boy just doesn't listen!  Almost 5pm and time for Vik and Rick to leave......
