The Best BBQ RIBS in Playa
I'm talking pork back or spare ribs. Not the rubbed, slow smoked kind but what I would call supper club style. Most time they are precooked and finished on the grill and cover with sauce, love them when they chrisp them just a little after adding the sauce. Once when I was in the great spuper club state of Wisconsin I ate ribs 5 nights in a row. All great and all from different places. La Parilla used to have good ones, but not so anymore. Someone posted a photo of the ribs at the Tequila Barrel and they looked great. Years ago Carlos & Charlies on the beach in Ixtapa had great ones, tender, with small bones and a wonderful fruit based sauce. So, I only got few days before Playa so please tell what you think. now I have made myself hungry so I going to have to have some peppermint icecrean with chocolate sauce.

ribs
the ribs at Moms are baby back ribs-hickory smoked all day and served with a homemade bbq sauce. Jurgen serves a half rack with baked beans and a baked potato for 80 pesos. Full slab for 140. Moms serves these every wednesday. Moms is located on 4th and 30th.
Tonight and hopefully only for tonight-Jurgen only has 14 slabs of the baby back ribs so he is switching to spare ribs(and this only applies to tonight)Shortage of baby back ribs this week. Snappy, how about coming up and bring Al with you. Just give them a try. |

Don and I had excellent ribs at that little hole in the wall that is kitty corner from PGs, next to the dive shop on the corner- across 26th and toward the ocean from Royal Palms...what the heck was the name of that place again...
Great pasta carbonara too.![]() Edit: La Fragata! Last edited by Rissask; 01-27-2010 at 08:16 PM.. |
