"Affordable Playa del Carmen" (article)

Couldn't find that this had been posted here when searching in a variety of ways, so hopefully I'm not repeating something here. But Caribbean Travel + Life magazine has come out with a piece under that title that is now available online at this link.

Of course, we particularly appreciate their comments with respect to beachfront lodging, I won't deny it --

Playa's top beachfront bargain is Playa Maya...

-- but the affordability factor is usually high on the radar of many, here, so seems like something that would be of interest.

Look at you. Good press!

Compared to other destinations in the Caribbean, it is very reasonable. I don't think there are too many cheaper places, maybe the Dominican Republic, Honduras (not really Caribbean though.) But it is the priciest spot in Mexico.

The Playa Maya?

I have a guide book written just about Playa del Carmen. It has a full chapter on hurricanes, yet it makes no mention of the Playa Maya. Did that place just open?

Thanks for the link, Steve. Always good to see a positive review of a great Hotel.

Nice, Steve! If I weren't so far behind in my magazine reading I may have beaten you to it. I just dug the February issue out of a pile and voila! Page 23.

sssshhhhhhh......can't we keep this a secret that your hotel offers an affordable beachfront accomodations. I felt we got a bargain staying at your place especially during high season (which is typically the only time we can travel due to our work).

Thanks, everyone.

Have you seen the second edition of that guide book you mention, Michael? We got a nice write-up with a half page photo, to boot.

Not on the computer much, due to a leaking palapa roof which caused its demise... Thankfully a loaner currently and an imminent return of my beloved Dell will correct this. Thanks for noticing I wasn't around!
