Hi everyone,
I was using the search option to see wether this topic has been on the list. So time to start it: Everyone has a favourite of his travels. So c'mon, let's see! One pic and a short description. I'll do the starter with that one: I can't make up my mind between these two. So here's two. Looking up. ![]() Looking down. ![]() Fremont Peak in the Mojave Desert, CA. They're not art but they are memorable. |

These pics are a few years old as I don't own this bike anymore (2002 Ducati Monster 620 dark). I don't have any travel pics on my current bike (2007 Kawasaki ZX6R) but will this summer!
Not great pics but great memories! ![]() Look @ the freaking tank bag in this next picture! We stopped about 45 minutes into the ride so my husband could take the bag and I took the backpack. I could barely ride with the freaking thing on there! We drove up to New Hampshire on a Friday night in August. I've never been so cold in my life! Yes, in August! Then, Saturday & Sunday it was beautiful so we had all our sweatshirts, etc jammed into our bags. Somedays I wish we rode cruisers with full luggage -- but that wish only lasts about 2-3 seconds and is gone once I throw my leg over my sportbike! ![]()

Best recent ride was to the Rocky Bow Riders BMW Rally last summer in Cochrane AB. Got to ride the Lougheed Parkway through Kananaskis Country which is really nice.
That's my R100RT (and me) in the background, and my friend Butch's R65 with full RT fairings up front. A great trip made better by the next post! |

So while we're at the rally, overnight appears behind our tents a K1 (those who know BMW bikes know the K1- their first, and maybe THE first, true full on superbike). Can't find the owner to talk to him until much later on, and to my surprise he's like 87, and his dear wife is like 84. 2 up on a K1 from BC to Alberta, and heading back after the rally. They've been riding for years and love the K1. That meeting, right there, was my highlight and motivation for riding until I can't ride no more!

That is very cool. ![]() at 40, I am just about to buy my first bike, since my old man ( ) recently bought himself and is getting back into it.squiffy- I see we are both from Sask. What are some good rides either in the province or into the US or maybe Manitoba? Don is taking the first week off in August and we want to go somewhere on a little trip.

My riding preference is to long distance touring- I did that loop in 2 days. I'm heading to Oregon this summer- supposed to be great riding there. As for local roads for you- don't know. But half the fun is finding them. What kind of bike are you considering? |

Hansen Lake road- been on there many a time with the boat heading up to lakes- but take the bike on gravel?? I will be too much of a novice to try that, I think.I grew up near Katepwa lake and I thought the highway along there from Lebret to Fort Qu'Appelle would be a nice, although short, ride. The plan now is to maybe go down into Glacier Montana and ride the Road to the Sun. Early August road trip. ![]() Not sure what kind of bike for a starter....some possiblilities are a Vulcan or a Boulevard or a small Shadow. We are waiting to see how my safety course goes.
