It was the final clue you gave Tappy about kids. I do not remember Scott ever mentioning kids, but then again I don't remember a lot of things.
I did find Streckman's trip report and just read it. In it he addresses the beautiful woman with him as his wife, and also posts a picture of his daughter. Then I came across 'THE PICTURE' which is I'm sure the one that Scott is referenced.
So with a bowed head I admit, I would never make a detective.
