How I Lost 9 Days In Playa- A Drinkumentary - Page 15

So I wake up this morning and am enjoying a peaceful morning and a nice hot cup of coffee. It is really needed as PalomaLover and I put in a little extra training shift for a very, very, near upcoming trip. Just as I take my first sip, my beautiful wife comes out carrying my smartphone which isn’t that smart as it never does what I ask it to do. Anyway, she says it has been buzzing so I should see who urgently needs my invaluable advice on such a morning. I see it is my good friend Gary, who is known as Elverno on playa.info. He is more of a lurker than a talker but that’s okay.
I call him and he excitedly begins to tell me about reading the forum this morning and I need to respond to a somewhat funny response to my report. I immediately panic and try to recall last night’s events, hoping desperately I didn’t embarrass myself or my wife. Although at times, I think she is very proud of me as she is always telling me I am a, “Piece of Work.”………Ahh a piece of work, kind of like a fine wine, a painting done by Michelangelo, a mythical God, or maybe Gerard Butler when he played in the movie Spartacus…………………….Screeeeeeech……….
My daydream comes to a quick ending as I look up at Tina as she busts out laughing…What is so damn funny? It couldn’t possibly be that I have my shirt on inside out, my sweats on backwards, or that my hair is sticking out in every direction making me look more like Crusty the Clown than the dude from Spartacus.
I am what I am so I look up my report on the forum and read wuzslo57’s great response. But I think her boyfriend has me mistaken for someone else. It happens a lot.... Anyway to yell such a ridiculous thing such as BOAT FLOAT! What could that possibly mean?
I have no idea that it is has been going on for a long, long, long time. I think he might think I am someone that has been on it for over 25 years and that it is always the weekend following the 4th of July. I heard that it is a 3 day rafting, boating, floating party on the Yellowstone River that begins in Livingston, Mt and ends in Reedpoint, Mt these days. Some now call it the Montana Mardi Gras on the River or maybe that would be me if I knew anything about it.
I have been told there is a couple that bear a striking resemblance to Montana SolMan and PalomaLover that have a motorized blender on their raft to make margaritas for as many people as they can. That just sounds ludicrous or is it luscious…This sure looks like those people….

Anyway you have me real curious as to who your boyfriend might be, so I guess I will have to take him up on that beer, drink, tequila, whatever so long as he remembers and accepts that it is strictly for research. Hmmm, February 9th, I think that is a Thursday which is always band and party time at Bad Boys Beach Bar. We just might be there! I don’t really want to disclose when we will be in Playa but I will tell you when it won’t be. We definitely won’t be there from January 28th thru Feb. 3rd or we also won’t be there Feb. 14th and beyond………Just maybe we will figure this mystery out………….Until then..

Hey dean, It's Bill.....the guy that was the " Safety Boat for several years...Had the Boat Shop in Billings......I think I have observed you doing research on the thing called the "Boat Float"...in fact I am sure I was there when all of the pictures you posted were taken. In fact I would bet that at one time or another you went for a ride in my jetboat. Anyway, me and my girl friend will arrive in Playa on Feb. 9th and are staying until the 19th. She's been there several times but this will be my first. She has always stayed at the Playa Palms but this time we are staying at the Jungla. I will definately be looking for you!

Ya know after looking at those pictures ...and remember I have been researching things this afternoon too.....I realized that its been 8 years since I was on the boat float cuz I moved to Oregon...so maybe I wasn't there when these were taken.....but if I keep living, sooner or later I will once again meet up some Thursday night in Livingston and participate in the " Boat Float Kick Off Party" I can't even start to explain to anyone just how much fun I have had on the Boat Float.

I believe we will be able to help you with your research

...We both have a Masters Degree in helping people doing any research on drinking...I my self have won many of Awards that I take a lot of pride in...I am some what as a pusher so please under stand when you say your done and I'm still insisting that you must have one more ( one more doesn't hurt my motto

) it will be strickly for your research only I am not trying to hurt you.When you fall,stumble or trip

I will stand right there beside you (taking as many pics

as I can LMAO ) and make sure everyone knows yes he is with us. No I'm not an Alcoholic as I don't attend AA meetings ( I guess from what I have been told they are not a BYOB type of get together weird I know ) So for now my boyfriend and I hold weekly meetings at our house "White Residential Trash Night " each Friday ( garage door comes up and the bar is open yes our garage is a bar ) we do have Happy hour ( best one in town ) from 2:30 pm till 3am ( catering to everyones work schedule ) There shall not be any drinking friend left behind....I stand firm on this... Its called "Tiffanys Bar and Grill " ( Tiffany being my bar name so if I do something in the morning I can say damn that Tiffany is out of control crazy ) So I will need to give you and Palomalover bars names very important to have and will be much needed during your research ( I have given all my friends bar names ) It will come to me as we start drinking together ( don't worry it wont be Herman or anything that any one can laugh at you about ) with that being said we are very excited to see you at Bad Boys ( darn Bill for telling you who he was ruined the whole surprise of wondering who my boyfriend was ) thats what happens when I left him home last night he gets on here and spills the beans who he is ( girls night was last night 2 fifths of Jager

As we get ready for trip number four I stopped by to read one of the greatest TR I have ever read. Hopefully Montana SolMan will get back down to PDC soon enough. Maybe a last minute trip for May Crazies....

Thanks again for the compliment Shivors. We made a 10 day trip to Playa in February 2012. Shortly after that I made it half way through my trip report from that trip but failed to finish it. As always it was a memorable trip...WAY TOO MUCH TEQUILA..

I realize it is no excuse but unfortunately life has kept me very busy, thus interrupting the best of plans. But maybe with your inspiration I will make another attempt at completion and submitting it. Sure wish I could make a last minute trip for May Crazies, but it is not going to happen. We just got back in early March from a trip to St John in the US Virgin Islands where our research involved many bottles and flavors of Rum.

Anyway, thanks again and I hope you have a great time on your return trip number 4.
