Donations for the drive to Playa !

We have a truck for the PPS that has been graciously been donated by David ( husband of Kelly aka bigbadleroy ) and his company and NOW after speaking with this person on the phone today....we have someone who has offered to drive the truck ALL THE WAY TO PLAYA DEL CARMEN !

Out of the kindness of his heart...... JimmyMN has volunteered to fly from Minnesota to Wilmington, North Carolina to pick up the truck and drive it ALL THE WAY to Playa !!! Jimmy has been a long standing member of this forum and someone who Deb and I consider a dear friend, if you have ever met Jimmy you know what a

cat he truly is ! I had originally intended to fly to N.C. and pick the truck up and meet Jimmy somewhere along the way but, Jimmy insisted that he has the time and would LOVE to make the trip to Playa and see some old friends along the way.

So now it brings me to this point........... could you pleeeeeeeeease help us with a donation for gas $$$ to get the truck to Playa ?? From the kindness of David & Kelly to the kindness of Jimmy... can we help them to make sure the truck gets to Playa for Andy & Jen and the PPS ??

I have NEVER in my life seen so much kindness from people that some of us have never met and yet are willing to do so much for an organization that is totally dependent upon the goodwill of others.

What Jimmy has offered to do is going to cost some SERIOUS $$$ ....fly to N.C. > drive all the way to Playa ...> and then ....fly back to Minnesota

All i'm asking for is a donation to help defray the cost of gas for the trip to get the truck down....Jimmy has donated the rest of the expense, but why should we stop there ? If you would like help us by donating ANY AMOUNT... ( update )please read babaloos comment ( post #8 ) and follow his suggestion...YOUR HELP IS GREATELY APPRECIATED ! THANK YOU RICK !

If others wish to make a donation, please make it directly to the Shelter
We have huge food bills and we are trying to build the spay/neuter clinic which has hit a lull due to finances.

I'm not above begging...we desperately need cash to realize the goals we have set forth.

Next, on the receiving end, you guys need to get the title business nailed down, prior to driving out of N.C. Every state does titlework differently, and putting Mexico in the mix throws even more wrenches into the mix.....as a DMV frontline employee, I suggest that Jimmy be given a title that is signed by the people donating it, along with a bill of sale to the PPS, permission slips to drive it to PDC. Unless Mexico requires Jimmy to sign the title, don't do it.....if that is the case, he might just title it and put plates on it before leaving NC, so that when he crosses the border, the vehicle is his, and the title is printed as such.....All that talk about signing the title, and just re-signing it down in Playa, well, it won't work that way in the States, what makes you think it will down there? I see a title covered with signatures from all kinds of people, well legwork must be done......Good luck, but find out for sure what is required to get it over the border, and into Andy and Jens hands, and I still have a couple of bathtubs that would love to go south forever....

I just have to respond again....since it's "my" thread...you don't have a choice eh ?

TRUST me rodman ( and I do appreciate your comments ) ALL of the legal paperwork is being done my Mexican authorities in Mexico and by the U.S. consolate in Mpls. to insure ALL appropriate insurance and title holders will have NO problem crossing the border into Mexico ( see I do my homework

). Thank You myhappypace2 ! but without the kindness of ALL OF YOU this would NOT be possible !

This entire donation ( from finding a vehicle to getting it down to Playa to raising funds to help ) has left me speechless. My LOVE for all of you that have commented from the get go when i first posted to Rick and his un-believable offer to help surpasses all acts of kindness i've EVER witnessed in my life ! < plugs in Gloria Estifan singing Spanish songs in Spanish on my headphones into the computer
