There is a little more to Mexico than just the Yucatan. It is a different story in much of the rest of the country. You living there for 20 years is meaningless, as it may be the safest part of the country.

If you were an outsider coming to this forum and read that post you would definitely come to a negative conclusion regarding Playa. All that i and others ask who have a vested interest and choose to live here is that people respect that fact and not post articles from opinion blogs which are not factually correct and could have an effect on our livelihood and create a sense of paranoia. Is there crime here? Sure!! Is it as bad as portrayed in the blog .No WAY JOSE. I have been here 6 years and am closely tied to the business community here and have seen no evidence to show what that article claims ,i am not claiming that it is not possible but i do say i have not seen it. As of now this cartel extortion stuff is blown way out of proportion.IMHO
You may want to read back previous posts again....very very carefully this time, and for actual meaning of what I was saying, as 'misinterpretation' must be your middle name.

So...your interpretation is that he was murdered by his family, and not Zetas pissed off that he didn't pay his dues? Zetas had nothing to do with it then? He was killed by his angry wife and son?

How do you get my interpretation of this matter being that he was murdered by his wife. I was saying Por Esto not Robinhood. I know the facts surrounding the case and was upset that a blog insinuated it had to do with drug cartels looking for extortion money. That's all i can say for now.

OK! You were the first person to remark on the wife, and you imply that you know more than the rest of us.

It's really irritating when a person says that they know more than everyone else does, and just leaves it at that. Why even bring it up, if you're not going to inform us of what really happened?

First of all it's Quintana Roo not the Yucatan.I have traveled to many parts of this beautiful country and have not experianced the problems or dangers that you speak of or seem to insinuate exist. Could you please tell me how many tourists visiting Mexico have been killed by drug cartels?? I am not misinterpreting your post Riss ,i think i can safely say i can read through the lines with regards to your response to Snappy. Here it is ...the Yucatan might be ok but other areas are a no go. What areas Riss be specific Mexico city,San Miguel,Cabo,San Cristobal, Puerto Vallarta,??? You can't
see what you are doing is the same as the MSM ,you put this blanket statement or as you say "different story " that condemns all of Mexico as some war zone .Be specific. And tell me how i can't feel just as safe here as i do in let's Say Vancouver or Toronto or Montreal. I am sure those cities have had many murders related to drug gangs and innocent bystanders being shot or killed by drive by shootings or related homicides .

Sorry Sue i don't know the exact details i would be speculating but i do know the FACT that it was not the Zetas or drug cartels as was insinuated in the blog The rest is under investigation by our brilliant police force. I know a close family member and as soon as i get some juicy stuff i promise to fill you in

I heard (read) that he had property in town.
He lost the property through forged documents involving bad bad people and crooked notaries.
He complained.
He's dead.
That's what I heard.
Any truth to it?
I have no f'ing idea.
