Another Brick in the Wall - Trip for 2 to Playa
 Peanut Pet Shelter - SPCA of Playa del Carmen Fundraiser Buy a Brick for $25.00 and help build the PPS Community Clinic One lucky Brick owner will recieve a Trip for Two to beautiful Playa del Carmen. Flight for 2 and a 7 night stay at the Villa Ballam Villa details here: Playa del Carmen Vacation Rentals Airport Transfer included. Fundraiser runs from April 3 to May7th (deadline 6pm EST) The lucky trip recipiant will be announced at our Another Brick in Wall party at Luna Blue on May 7th. The party will be broadcasted live on www.peanutpetshelter.org To buy a brick and be eligiable for the trip go to: WWW.PEANUTPETSHELTER.ORG/BRICK.html The purpose of the Peanut Pet Shelter Clinic will be to provide free spay and neuter for the animals of those local people who otherwise would not be able to afford this service. Many wonderful vets and associations already provide this at certain times of the year. It is intended that the Peanut Pet Shelter Clinic will prove this service on a permanent basis. The site will also be a leaning center for veterinarian students. We have been contacted by North American veterinarians and veterinarian educational establishments who would like to help with spay/neuter and to research, with their students, diseases and parasites particular to this part of the world. We feel it would be extremely beneficial to the shelter, community and visiting students, to provide a learning facility. Peanut Pet Shelter needs assistance to make this a reality – a project that could potentially save and enhance the lives of thousands of animals and provide a unique learning experience for many students who want to work in the veterinary field. Some of you may be interested in the actual clinic site! Here are some pictures that were taken in Nov '09. This was shortly after the kind donation of the parcel of land. As you can see the half wall had already been started (this is to border the land). The land was pretty rough back then and a lot of clearing needed to be done, trees, rocks, etc......bit by bit more work is being done.
      Hoping to get some updated pictures soon! This clinic will not only provide a permanent place for free spay and neuters but also provide a learing center for visiting "vets in training"! As the Peanut Pet Shelter has evolved over the past few years we have found that having an actual "on site" clinic in Playa del Carmen not only benefit our animals but hopfully ALL animals in Playa. |
