Malix Pek, a non profit organization that helps street dogs in Playa del Carmen

Hello everybody!

I would like to introduce you Malix Pek Asociación Civil.
We are a group of people who loves dogs and the animals in general. Our goal is to decrease the number of street dogs here in Playa del Carmen.
How we achieve it?
By spaying and neutering.

We know that the problem is in those “half street dogs” that means that those dogs have "owners" who don’t really care about their dogs. The dogs keep on reproducing without the minimum control.

So far we rehomed more than 120 dogs and we spayed/ neutered more than 150.

We worked in all sterilizations campaign. We try to be there helping the organization and bringing dogs to surgery.

We TALK to the people to explain them the importance of sterilization. We have a direct communication with the people of Playa del Carmen.

Every summer we help V.I.D.A.S. sterilization campaign.

We don't receive financing help from the Government of Quintana Roo. We only work with donation coming from privates and fundraising.

How to help Malix Pek?
If you decide to come to Playa, here it is a list of what we need.

We accept all kind of supplies:
  • frontline
  • dewormer
  • antibiothic
  • Suture 1.0 and 2.0
  • Anesthetic (Zoletyl for example)
  • gauze
  • cleaning products
  • oxygenated water
  • collars
  • leashes
  • dog food
If you are travelling from Victoria Canada to Playa or Cancun, please let us know if you would like to bring to Victoria one dog. There, Vivienne, a friend of us, will pick the dog up at the airport and find him a good home!

Write us a mail:
malix_pek@hotmail.com

THANK YOU!!!

Here are some pictures of our group. Disguise's party, adoption's day, puppies, more puppies... Ringo and his new home!!
