I just flew down & back to Playa over Christmas/New Years from Dayton ,Ohio. I was sceptical about my rather cheap fair. It was $300 less than the "other guys". I flew to Chicago and then to Cancun. No problemo! They are a no frills airline, that are giving the Big guys, a run for their money. No first class seating. Soft drinks & peanuts were free. Hard drinks & headsets for the movie, cost $$. I talked to one of their flight attendants while waiting in Chicago & he told me that they are a real airline. Not a charter. They are expanding direct flights all over the country. All through their Chicago hub. I sure hope they stay in business. It cost me $850 to fly Delta last year to Playa. This year it was $550. Lots cheaper in the off season. PMD

We've been taking ATA out of Detroit for years. Direct flight to Cancun. Have never had a problem with them. I think they rent the planes out to the Charters. We book with Funjet or Apple but sometimes the flights are ATA. DavidB 8)

I have flown on ATA once. They are a very nice airline. The company is based in Indianapolis. Many of their flights originate out of Indy and Chicago.
We are flying with ATA in February for our eventual stop in Playa. The rate was fantastic compared to the major air carriers. Our tickets, if memory serves, for a direct flight from Indy to Cancun were something like $399 each, including taxes. If you really want more information about ATA, see their Web site at ata.com. To those of you flying out of Detroit, Spirit has been offering some decent prices since adding Cancun as a destination. |

ATA
ATA is a very good airline.we've used them many times to go around U.S. and to Mexico. Funjet contracts with them for their chartered flights.I have seen airfare as cheap as 200.00 from Cleveland to Cancun . If you like to book last minute like I do. Headsets to listen to music and watch movies are 2.00 . It's a unique 2 prong adapter that fits into the armrest with a cheap pair of headphones. any pair of headphones will fit the adapter. light snacks and non alcoholic drinks are served free of charge . alcoholic drinks are 4.00 . always have been ontime except when snowstorms held them up.

ATA
We flew ATA through a Funjet charter. Our very inexpensive rate was for Tuesday to Tuesday travel and we practically had the plane to ourselves. The air hosts/hostesses could not have been nicer and we made great time - almost an hour earlier than expected on the way down, and a little bit earlier on the return - a nice change from the delays that usually occur.
