My fiance and I are trying to plan a wedding near Playa Del Carmen. We once spent a week in Cozumel, and absolutely loved it. We want to get married and bring our immediate families as well as some friends. Just the families alone equate to about 21 adults and 9 children ( ages 2-10 ). A beautiful beach-water is a MUST, as well as All-Inclusive, so we dont have to arrange dinner for 30 every night. Some resorts seemed ideal, until "bad-beach stories" popped up. This cant happen.
Golf is also big on the list, as well as access to a city for shopping & nightlife options. You know, 30 relatives, you do the math...hehe. Resorts such as Iberostar Paraiso ( again, kid friendly is a must ), the Reef Club Playacar, RIU Palace Mexico, and the Alegro Resort Playacar are the front runners. Any experience with big family groups at these spots ? Again, beautiful beach, kid friendly, all inclusive, city location and golf top the list of necessities.....oh, and our wedding, too...har-har-har. Any advice is greatly appreciated ! |

Hi John & Jen,
My fiance and I are getting married in the Riviera Maya this coming December. After a lot of research we have decided on the Barcelo Maya Beach Resort. Our group is similar in size to yours though fewer children. We have golfers a-plenty (the Resort has mini-golf and, supposedly, a 4 hole pitch and putt!) and water and beach quality are very important to us too. Couple of websites to check out:http://www.unofficial-barcelo-maya.com http://www.ramproductions.com/survey/showme.asp?locid=8 |
