I have been to many of the resorts in and around PDC, and I usually travel with my young kids. We are going to Iberostar Tucan in a little over a month for the 2nd visit. The first time we were there, my oldest was 5. He loved it!!! There was so much for the kids to do and my favorite, a great sloping pool entry that is perfect for the kids to play in. The jungle environment gives the kids so much to look at, there is a little playground, etc. etc. The best part is, the staff adore kids. You can tell. They stop and pat them on the head, bring them little treats, make neat things out of the napkins, you name it. They cater to the kids! I have never used the kids club, so I can't speak to that. My other suggestion would be Barcelo. They are also great with the kids, but it is further away from town.
