"pee bar"

Yup, I feel the same way....will only go and sit at them earlier in the day!

Too bad about the baked Alaska. Maybe they used cheap mezcal?

Ugh, I just posted my comments and *poof* - lost it!

Ok so Linda pretty much covered day 2, our first full day at the hotel. She was the designated food picture taker so I have no food photos to add. BTW, that was a mussel I was eating, not an oyster!

We did settle into a regular routine - up early, order a pot of coffee from room service OR grab it from the coffee machines they had on every other floor. Truth be told, the coffee was kind of icky, and green and the coffee out of the machine really wasn't so bad as long as you mixed a latte with a cappuccino and then got some milk from the sports bar! Trust me, we are coffee experts and this was the proper recipe! Coffee in hand, we'd take our computers down to the lobby and as Linda said, I did have to work every single day, twice a day actually. I'm quite sure, since we were naming people (i.e. gross make out couple , dirty old man couple, Kentucky couple, Vegas couple) that others were naming us as well (i.e computer addicted, coffee drinking couple! ). Trust me, I wasn't online for fun, some people DO have to work and I am one of those some people.

After computer time, since there was never a hurry to get out to the pool (because as Linda said, the sun didn't show up until about 9:30-10am), we'd head back to the room to change and hit the pool. After pool time, late afternoon, we'd go back and grab the computers (yes again!) and hang in the lobby for a bit. We'd then get ready for dinner and start our evening at the outside bar for pre-dinner cocktails. We'd eat dinner (or maybe not!) and then head back to the bar for post-dinner cocktails.

Here is another photo of us at the bar, I assume before dinner since we look semi-normal.

And here is me ratting out Linda for not wearing a racerback bra with her dress. Visable bra straps and not the way to go in "AnnaLynne's What Not To Wear" world.

Here is Linda at dinner:

And I SO wish I had my camera ready when she took a bite of that baked Alaska! The look on her face was priceless. We laughed a lot watching the people next to us do the same, and the people next to them as well. They all looked something like this . Yet a few others had no reaction so that was rather odd. I refused to take a bite so I couldn't tell you what it tasted like!

Meeting the boyz that night was a lot of fun. We always tend to find a couple of guys to hang out with when we do AI trips, and we saw these two coming a mile away and said "Those are our guys for this trip!". And they were - but only for one night as they were leaving the next day.
Dave and Alex were really nice, I wish they would have been there longer, I'm sure we would have had a lot of fun with them. So we drank a few bottles of champagne with them (and it WAS really good too!) and then Linda hit the wall. When Linda hits the wall, it is time to go! Plus we had our zipline tour early the next morning so it was good that we left when we did. Yea - zipline - so excited!!!

It's Moday so it must be zipline day! When we were planning this trip and from reading Rissaks trip report about ziplining in PVR I thought this would be a "fun" thing to do! I emailed AnnaLynne and said "we need to do this" along with a link to zipling. We prepaid for this online and were advised where to meet which was a small kinda dumpy hotel on the highway into PVR. I personally am not a fan of heights and thought "well how bad can this be?" The more and more I thought about it, the more and more a little scared I became!I even went as far as googling "zipline accidents" ! I shouldn't have.

Anyway.....up early on Monday and taxi it over to the hotel for our pick up. Several different tours pick up from this hotel. We used Los Veranos tours. We had to stop at a few other places to pick up victims and were then on our way along the coast and up the mountains.

About an hour and a half later we arrive! Everyone off the bus, store our bags in lockers, head to the breifing and get on our gear!

Everyone sits on benches and they have a tiny line to show you how to "zip", brake, and most importanly how to pose for your picture to be taken (to sell to you later) on the small practice line. In the middle of the breifing we were commenting on how good looking one of the guides were and how he looked like Jon Bon Jovi! I took my camera out to sneak a picture of him and he stopped mid breif to pose for me!

After the breifing we are ready to roll. Everyone has to carry their own 50lb handlebar thingy (not sure what you call it!) Ok, maybe not 50lbs but it seemed like it cuz we had to do a bit of hiking to get to each line!Guess I shouldn't have smoked those 3 packs of cigs the night before!

During the briefing they told us the first line was the short practice line where you get your picture taken. (to sell to you later!) Ok, easy, not so bad! BTW, I had the camera as AnnaLynne did not have any kind of pockets to carry hers. Obviously I DIDN'T take pictures while I was hanging on for dear life hundreds of feet high!

Second line, not so bad but they gave me the brake signal and I guess I wasn't paying enough attention to the briefing as I didn't brake so good and they basically catch you as you are coming in for a landing on the platform! This kinda scared me and I thought "WTF am I doing here?"

3rd line, highest, longest, fastest!!

It doesn't look so bad from the platform! Then the guides ask people if they want to go upside down, not holding on! Guess who volunteers to do it!

I am sooo proud of my chica! But there is NO WAY in hell I am doing that! The guide zips down with AnnaLynne to film her as they were making a CD of the trip. (to sell to us later!)

I believe AnnaLynee zipped this way several times and loved it! Not me, I had to stop myself from screaming to try and enjoy the beauty of it all!

Misc pictures along the way!

Last line we zip down we end up at the bar! Good thing as I really needed a cocktail! Gear off, tips to the guides, pictures of our guides......

Yes, we end up buying the pictures of ourselves AND the CD!
There is a river down by the bar where you could go swimming, we did not.

Since we didn't have ANYthing to eat all day we decide to sit and have a few (4) beers each and some guacamole before we head out for the ride back. We sat with a couple, Curtis and Brenda who were staying in Buceieras (sp?), which we were planning on visiting during our trip. We liked them! They were fun! Brenda was telling me about the stray dogs in Bucieras and wondering if there was anything being done about them! Well I don't know about Bucieras but in Playa del Carmen.........

Anyway.....before the bus left we wandered around a bit and they had a very cool mural of zipping!

This is me! (not ME but AnnaLynne!)

There was also a little monkey petting zoo of sorts...ahhh, no thanks!

Back on the bus and time to head back! On the way back they drop everyone off at thier hotel or somewhere close to thier hotel. It was a very bumpy ride and with several beers in us and NO bano on the bus, well.....you can only imagine how uncomfortable it was! AND....we were the second to last people to be dropped off!!!!

I tried to take some pictures thru the bus window....this is the only decent one I got.

Los Arcos.

Back at the hotel and running for a bano I was feeling a bit shaky. Probably not eating, being a bit scared and thrilled at the same time and using muscles I wasn't planning on using on vacation! But oh what a great time we had and I am really happy that we did this!

I believe we ate at the dinner buffet this night and probably headed to the bar afterwards......

YAY! My favorite day of vacation! Great account of it too Linda, and I'm so glad you were able to bring your camera. There were so many photo ops but it was tough to pull your camera out, with your gloves on, holding the handle bar thingy and climb a big mountain at the same time! Therefore, I don't have any "during" photos of the excursion.

As Linda said, I did do 3 of the lines upside down. The first time, it was the highest line. I really wasn't sure how it would feel so I didn't pay much attention to what was going on under me. All I saw was a blur of water and a house! I had my sunglasses on and was afraid they would fall off, and my helmet was hanging off a bit too so I spent a lot of the time kind of holding on to my things instead of enjoying what was going on around me. The next line, I decided not to go upside down and let someone else do it (and yes, we all prodded Linda to no avail! ) so I could look at all the beautiful things there were to see. But the following line, with a lack of upside down volunteers, I felt the need to step up to the plate again! This time I knew what it would feel like so really paid attention to all the (upside down) sights. Little did I know that about halfway through the line, the guy zipping with me would decide it was time to spin me around...and around...and around. Much fun! My head hitting his knee as I was spinning - not so much! The third line they again asked for volunteers, really gave Linda the chance telling her "You don't want your girlfriend to be disappointed in you now, do you?" Nah, didn't work, she was flying straight! So I volunteered, again. They said "Anyone else except HER?". Nope, no one else wanted to go so I went a third time. This time they hooked my feet up on the handles of the handle bar thingy so my legs were straight instead of bent. I hit a few trees with my arms on the way down this time but what a rush! If ya ever go, DO take the opportunity to go upside down if they ask you, it's well worth it!

I did take a few photos afterwards, after we zipped to the restaurant - which BTW was VERY nice place and they had great guac and colddd beers!

Here is Linda pointing to herself on the mural (nice face! ):

A close up of Linda:

A close up of me:

Some photos taken out the bus window (and it was bumpy so very difficult to get any kind of shot!)

And yes, we did go to the buffet that night, and we did go to the bar before we ate, see?

This was the night of the Michael Jackson show so we DID sit in the courtyard area to watch, drinking ice cold champagne. Truth be told, as cheesy as some of the shows are, this one was pretty good. This is the same Michael Jackson guy that travels all over Mexico, he is from Cancun and had been at a hotel in Riviera Maya just the week before where clients of mine saw the very same show! That guy gets around!

Once the show was over though, we beat feet and practically crawled back to our rooms and hit the sack pronto!
