Puerto Vallarta, Ziplines and more!
Yep, another AI trip for AnnaLynne and I but this time we decided to go to a different part of Mexico. Puerto Vallarta! Last time I was there was about 8 years ago, a first for AnnaLynne.
Instead of our usual 4 nights we made it 7 nights. Ok, 7 nights at an AI, we HAVE to do other things than just sit around and eat and drink days and nights. Not there's anything wrong with that we just needed to do and see other things! And so it begins.......On approach into PVR. Note the runway in sight at the 11 o'clock position! ![]() I flew in from Houston, a 2 1/2 hour flight , AnnaLynne flew in from Newark, a 12 hour flight I believe?! Oh, and no DirectTV for her!![]() Our flights arrived within 30 minutes of eachother so I waited outside of customs for my chica to arrive! We took a taxi ($300 pesos) to our hotel, the Riu Palace Pacifico located about 30 minutes from the airport in an area that reminded us a bit of Playacar in Playa. ![]() Out of the taxi and into the lobby. Very pretty! ![]() ![]() Our check in guy with refreshing beverages on arrival! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After checking in and getting our room keys (cards) and towels cards we head to the room! ![]() ![]() ![]() AnnaLynne modeling the latest in shower caps! ![]() ![]() ![]() Views from the balcony. ![]() ![]() We unpack, change clothes and wander the resort....for drinks! ![]() ![]() A bar! ![]() Another bar! ![]() Pretty! ![]() A million beach chairs! ![]() AnnaLynne on the beach. IMHO the beach here is not so nice! Especially when you (me) are used to the white sand and the blue waters of Playa. This beach and water reminded me a bit of Galveston beaches...... ![]() ![]() Dunno?? ![]() ![]() I'm about 12 sheets to the wind about now and it's only about 5pm! ![]() ![]() We decide we needed to eat...at some point in the evening so off to the room to change, again! We didn't have reservations for an a la cart this night so we ate at the dinner buffett. But first......Raspberry Martinis! ![]() ![]() ![]() I don't think I have anymore pictures after this one for this night? ![]() AnnaLynne....your turn!

Very nice start dear!
![]() Here are my photos from the plane. It reminded me of flying into Los Angeles. Us folk from the East Coast don't get to see mountains very often - I think they're pretty amazing to see. I finally had to put my camera away because the guy sitting next to me was doing this every time I took a picture. Hey buddy, I've never been here and we're doing a trip report so STFU and mind your bidness! First class people can be so jaded, and this guy wasn't the best person to sit next to. When he'd feel like talking to me, he'd blab away and if I started to return the conversation, he'd put his ipod in his ears and start reading! ![]() But that was nothing compared to the 3 little kids sitting behind me - a 7 and 8 month old and an 18 month old. Oh man, the older kid stood up in front of his seat almost the whole trip banging against the back of my seat! After a few hours of this, I politely asked momma if she could sit him IN his seat, and she did, but then he was kicking the back of my seat so either way, it was rather unpleasant. On a side note - I'm thinking about starting a Facebook page called "Children under age 5 should not be allowed to fly first class - Yea or Nay?". Seriously, people pay big bucks to sit there and having 3 little ones behind you - whining, crying, fidgiting, clammering all over your seat, having mom change a poopy diaper on the floor right behind you ![]() Anyway, it wasn't a 12 hour flight (nice Linda ) but about 6 hours because of a strong headwind. And correct, no Direct TV, just a lame movie that I could barely see because the screen was right in front of my seat. All in all, except for the kid factor, it wasn't horrible and thank gawd for non stop flights! ![]() I find my chica outside after making my way through the time share shark tank and yeah, we're here! Let the vacation begin! The taxi ride to the hotel felt like it took forever. When we went back into Puerto Vallarta later in the week, the ride felt so short - but on the way there, so long. ![]() Here are a few more hotel photos: Mini bar area: Bathroom: We were upgraded to partial ocean view, which was just fine! Lobby: Lobby bar: Theater: You can also watch the shows from outside: The main buffet restaurant: Checking out the beach right away: Linda almost stepped on this poor guy! Then we found the pool bar! ![]() We did head back to the room, a wee bit tipsy after a few beers and mojitos, cleaned up and headed to the buffet for dinner. Linda, is this the night we met the boyz and drank champagne...or was that the second night? I lost track of days after about the first few hours!

Great start!
I too LOVE seeing mountains, coming from the prairies. ![]() ![]() The hotel looks so beautiful. A lot nicer than the one we stayed at in Nuevo! We were down by the NV marina and that Paradise Mall- did you go there at all? I agree about the beaches....PV has the least nice beaches of all the Pacific coast resorts, IMO. Oh well, you can't have it all! Looking forward to the rest!

I will join your group of NO kids in frist class!!
![]() ![]() Although I didn't have that problem on my flight. Not even anyone sitting next to me! Direct TV the whole way down too! Watched the movie "He's Just Not Into You" kinda depressed me![]() I honestly can't remember what we did after we ate the first night? Did we go back to the outside bar where young Daniel worked?

Where is that photo of us with the boyz drinking champagne? If I see that, I'll know by what I was wearing what night it was! Ok, shut up about that! ![]() *edit* I found that photo on FB. The champagne was the second night. I guess we didn't do much of anything the first night - which was not surprising since we were hammered by 5pm!

Sunday...day2!
We decided we were going to take it easy today and tonight due to the fact we were doing a zipline tour on Monday! I don't remember if we went to the breakfast buffett or not but when we did head out we went to the beach. I don't even think I got any pictures of our time at the beach which doesn't surprise me as we weren't very impressed with it and maybe spent an hour there and then went to the pool!We claimed our "spot" near the pool, away from loads of people and the very loud (at times) entertainment people! ![]() ![]() The view from our loungers! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The resort wasn't anywhere near capacity so there was really no reason to play the "towel game" and since the sun was behind the building till about 10am not many people were out by the pool early. So off to the swim up bar when hardly anyone was in it before it turned into the "pee bar"! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The weather was perfect ALL week, not a cloud in the sky, mid 80's and low humdity! It was only the day we arrived that there were clouds! So the day consisted of pool time till about 3:30-4:00pm. I think we did hit the lunch buffett since we didn't have breakfast! The hotel did NOT have internet connection in the rooms! Which really sucked for AnnaLynne since she is working nonstop! Our routine consisted of after pool time grab the netbooks and head to the lobby where there was free wifi!![]() Although the wifi connection sucked sitting outside of the lobby and was painfully slow we always ended up inside! I am sure people were walking by us everyday saying look at those computer losers....... ![]() We had dinner reservations at the steak place this night. Another routine we got into was shower, change, drinks at the outside bar and head to dinner! ![]() ![]() The appy plate! ![]() AnnaLynne eating an oyster? ![]() Entrees, steak..... ![]() and more steak! ![]() On to dessert! I had the flaming Baked Alaska, they flame it right at your table. Oh cool! Once the flames subsided and I dug in...ewwwwww![]() I don't know what they put on it to make it "flame" but it tasted no so good! Too bad the camera wasn't ready to get the look on my face cuz I am told it was funny! So we watched all the others' faces who ordered it! Some were of total shock and others had no issues!![]() AnnaLynne's "safe" dessert! ![]() After dinner we went back to the outdoor bar and watched the "show". I personally find AI shows pretty lame! Anyway, we did sit inside the theatre and some kind of lame couples show was going on! We drank and laughed at who we called "gross make out couple" who were on stage, making out! I mean they were really going at it and we weren't the only ones saying ewww........ At some point during this show all the couples on stage had to go into the audience and bring people up on stage with them. The more people they got, they won. At least that's what I think the jist of this was? Well no one was picking us! Until "the boyz" grabbed us and took us on stage! Oh yeah, "gross make out couple" are still going at it! Anyway, our "couple" didn't win so we all exited stage left and headed outside. The entertainment team them presented our couple with a bottle of champagne!![]() ![]() Good champagne too!! I think I had to cut myself off and announced I had to head back to the room as we had to get up early and have some wits about us for the next day's ziplining!
