Dang, I missed the most important post of them all
People like to make fun of Sarah for that comment.
As Alaskan's we understood what she was saying about Russia.
Definitely our next door neighbors... Wasn't all so terribly long ago that Alaska was forever having to scramble their fighter jets to intercept Russian bombers coming into our airspace (and may still be having to, even though it's not announced anymore). So yeah, I guess we're a little more conscious of the threats to the ol' US of A (I suppose that could be considered foreign policy experience) than someone say... from Chicago?

There is a TA review dated 1/16/11. Thanks!

I was there till the 19th Jan...and had to walk past it everyday. It was NOT open. Any place that intentionally closed over that peak xmas/new years would be crazy to do so...and they were closed over that time period. There was only 1 day during the 3 wks of walking past it daily that it showed a vague symptom of life - with a few lights on only....but they were out on our return back home!

We've been going past it for the past week and a half. Sign in front says it's closed but I've seen the lights on twice and once it even looked like people sitting at the tables on the deck... However the next evening it was dark again. Next time I see the lights on I'll try to walk up and see, but so far we've always been in a cab when it's lit up.

When did Alaska get its own air force.
Are you sure that it wasn't the U.S.A.F. which was scrambling its fighter jets

Xulam is OPEN again!

Yes indeed...like only in Mexico it seems to happen, Xulam has indeed RE-OPENED!!

Same name, same parrots/cockatoos, same/similar menu - altho more Mayan weighted, same owners who pumped in more $ under new administration. It reopened on thursday last week (30jun)...why oh why they keep opening in low season is beyond me but there you go!

That's amazing!!! I only ate in thee once and it was pretty average to say the least, and the parrots drove me nuts.

That location seems to be cursed. Places (restaurants) seem to come-and-go sooner-or-later.

If you can make it in low season, you can make it anytime.

Even if it's great, there are like 50 people in the whole wide world who care about Mayan food with parrots in that location, so unless they develop some concierge relationships they're basically closed the moment they open.
